Interaction for killers who want to show mercy?

As a killer player who doesn't kill people because I don't like eliminating people from the game unless a ritual/tome asks me to I mostly look to get 8 hooks, that is hook every survivor twice. This is extra difficult if multiple people have the same character because I have no way to keep track. I usually go, 'Claudette has 1, Meg has 2, Dwight has 2, Nea has none' or something every so often when I count the total number of hooks.

However the survivors sometimes don't know this, especially if the game is close. Had one poor Claudette on death hook desperately trying to get her reverse bear trap off during end game collapse after I put it on her after the last generator is done because I want to give everyone nice hats :D. Presumably she didn't know she could leave even after I dragged her to the exit gates and let her struggle off. I could have hooked her if I wanted to kill her.

It got me thinking that I'd like for there to be a visible way for the killer to show mercy. I don't even need encouragement or rewards to do it but I'd like my intent to be made clearer. Not as a display of dominance either. Yes, yes I'm supposed to be a horror movie villain but some of the killers aren't heartless and it could fed into the entity by giving a survivor hope if you want to spin it that way for the lore.

This has no impact on those who want to mercilessly kill people and remove them from the game but to those who want to give others a better chance to learn and generally 'play' the game, it'd be nice.

I've thought about how someone could do this, and my solution was to use charms to indicate to survivors that I just want to play around. AFAIK, there's not an established system to do this (like there is for hook gymnastics for instance), but I'm curious to see if maybe that could be a solution to our problem.

I've thought of something similar - like some combination of 3 charms that would signal to informed players that "hey! I'm not here to ruin your day"

But there'd probably need to be a content creator-led movement to normalize some combination of charms that are accessible to everybody, and co-opting the pride themed charms for something like that might not be the best way to go about it.

I feel it should be integrated into gameplay. Similar to how Moris can be used on someone on death hook, in this case you could 'show mercy' instead. Without an offering of course. What it actually does, I'm not sure but it'd basically mean that survivor can no longer be picked up by the killer and can get up themselves as if they had unbreakable.

In 99% it's super easy, when you down everyone, just nod, pick one and bring to another one. It doesn't work only on players that are less than 10 hours in the game.

But, frankly, I didn't see killer player that gives hatch in last 6 months. I barely see ones that just don't camp and tunnel.

You'd be amazed how often this doesn't work lol. I get it, I'm a 'different breed' but still I'm not alone in this. It is a bit sad how many play this game so seriously and coldly.

I can say from killer side that almost everytime they understand that I let them go and even help doing challenges. Today survivor showed me where to pick Invitation.

But from survivor side, god damn..... I didn't earn more than 15K points with all cakes today in a single match. "Repair 3 gens" took 7 matches, 10 more to "Escape with Haddie" and I still cannot get it. From survivor 17 matches I earned 200K points. Only in one match we did 3 gens total. What the hell is wrong?
