Do you think ds is worth running a lot?

I get to use it in 1 of like 20 games or so. If that.

I get plenty of value out of dh, iw and even woo. But ds is too situational and I feel like those rare games I get to use it are not really worth it looking at the bigger picture.

I am thinking that using a non situational perk on par with the ones I mentioned would be better overall.

What do you think? And do you have any suggestions? Except kindred, I grew out of it.

    I never take it off.

It never leaves my build. People always ask why and never understand my reasoning. Take my games today as an example. Trying to use point offerings on people without DS and get hard tunnelled to the point the killer won't even hit a survivor bodyblocking right in front of him

Honestly, DS is strongest when you aren't using it, because people will likely play around it anyway. And if someone is going to tunnel you through DS the 5 second stun won't stop them.

I only put it back on for the Anniversary event because, well, it's a DBD event. Before that I hadn't used DS in a solid 4 months and still got plenty of value because DS acts as half a fifth perk for free.

You want to know something I find really funny

I've stopped running DS but basically every game I always think to myself "I hope that guy has DS"

    Goes to show I suppose.

DS is probably the strongest perk in the game for the single fact that you don't need to use it to get value out of it. A lot of times you are not going to make use out of it because killers simply won't bother going after you after getting out of hook out of fear of DS. The thing is, if the killer risks picking you up and doesn't see DS, they are going to tunnel you because getting someone out of the game quickly is efficient.

Boon: Circle of Healing, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, We're Gonna Live Forever.

    COH should be very obvious.

BT is because we all know that in solo if there's a camper, the teammates won't be doing gens, they'll be trying to save. I might as well have BT and be the one to do this.

Iron Will is in my build exclusively to hard counter Spirit. It's very good in a lot of situations, but the only reason it's there constantly is because of the chance at finding a Spirit.

WGLF combos well with the BT sacrifice and also more points.

When I play events, COH is replaced with DS.

Also, WGLF can be dropped for Sprint Burst. Near the same strength as Dead Hard in a lot of situations, and far less frustrating for me to use. Also, less tilting when I play killer so I assume that's the same for everyone.

I truly believe it depends on your MMR. I think the players in low MMR get more use out of it, and maybe some out of the top 1%. Not much tunneling going on in mid MMR it seems.

Nope, I don't see any worth in using it in solo play.

    It's stronger as a SWF.

I don't use it and do very well, judging by the stories I read here.

    Then again....I RUN SELF-CARE

The only problem is, most of the time, if the killer is determined to tunnel you, they'll just eat the DS.

It's less of a safety net for you, and more of a punishment for the killer. The time it takes for them to be stunned, then start chasing, downing, and hooking you again, is just more time that the other survivors have to do gens and escape.

But like I said, it doesn't really guarantee your safety unless you run it with something like Parental Guidance + Iron Will so you can get away and hide.

Well, I was maybe a little harsh on sc users but then again that was stupid of me. I am not like that anymore.

People should use whatever they like or works for them.

Personally I have tons of medkits on my characters so I usually bring one.

Oh, I wasn't referencing you, in particular....just the SC = Bad stereotype!

    Thanks for the detailed response.

I used all of the perks you mentioned decent amount of time but I think I need to find something else. I will try different perks, maybe some I barely touched as well and see how it suits my playstyle.

No worries, I didn't think you did. But even if you did, you would be in the right in my book.

Keep your ds safety built on! People are out to make points so expect a lot of players playing who are rusty and will likely tunnel out of desperation. Everytime these events kick up i swear the number of killers i see tunnel and test the ds is ridiclous.

That being said being taxed one perk slot for a mechanic that should have alternatives baseline is ridiclous. Then again killer has game problems with early game gens.

“Maybe I should take off DS, because I never get value anyway!”

    seconds later-

“why do I hear boss music?”

If the killer wants to tunnel you, they're gonna tunnel you and just eat the DS.

Yes it’s absolutely still worth running. I get value all the time.
