Iri is censored, Remove the censor please
What is the deal. Most people myself included have massive issues with the censor. Has anyone heard back from the devs about potentially fixing this? Its getting ridiculous. Oh to make it fun post your censored findings beneath. One of the strangest I've seen by far is Iri. Iri is censored in this game. I have absolutely zero idea as to why. As in how could it ever be used in an inappropriate way?

Oh this Leon was such a bad player. They just walked around doing nothing did totems and didn't do any generators and got hooked twice.
Meanwhile the Leon is trying to do find and cleanse totems for tome.
Of course it's pretty clear who they are talking about whether Leon is censored or not. If you want to be a jerk to someone the censor is not going to stop that from happening. It's just a nuisance the way it is.

Some people need to get called out after the match. It hurts nothing imo and maybe the bad player can use it as a learning experience. I also hate this mentality when swf is a thing. We have like 1/10th of the community who go out of their way to use this game as a bully sim then gaslight people. The devs dont do anything about that and havent spoken out on that, but we are the bad people for calling out bad plays in the endgame chat or using curse words in a game about murdering people. smh

There's a lot of double standards in how they choose to administer the rules in this game. That's their right sure but it seems and is arbitrary. In some cases it honestly feels like they are fueling toxicity to the point where it's hard to tell whether it's complicity or incompetence. Don't get me wrong, this sort of thing isn't easy to manage and I haven't come across a solution yet that works well but could they be doing better? Definitely.
On a personal level at least because I play killer I can generally control the game a bit more. I choose not to kill most of the time unless a tome requires it or someone is being a real jerk.

I also get censor when I say thank you.
Also you can facecamp or tbag in the game, but you can't say them after chat. That is just too toxic (!)
This is ridiculous, they should just remove the chat and be done with it.

At the end of the day you can't have a meaningful conversation at the post game chat and discuss any interesting or cool situations that happened during the game, so the only real option left is either "gg wp" or the much more prefered smacktalk and throwing slurs and insults back and forth as its tradition in online gaming. This will teach them!!1

They are fine with toxicity. They think that insults and people being really nasty to one another is an integral part of online gaming, so long as you don't use slurs or threats.

Thats not true. I've had plenty of wholesome chats in the games endgame chat. They are far outnumbered to the nasty ones for sure, but they exist I assure you.

That was meant tongue in cheek and you are right, BUT its also true that a real conversation is rather difficult, because you can directly talk about a player or character or certain tactics like tbagging etc and must dance around this subjects, while a lot of smacktalking isn't censored at all. So it either makes you wonder, or it figures, right?

Thats what I mean! Meaningful conversations are really awkward and hard to pull off, while smacktalking and real savage insults are easy to pull off. BHVR got that backwards, somehow. Maybe we should tell them?

So I wanted to thank my teams bill for saving me during EGC post game. So i wrote "ty bill" and i twas censored. The censoring system is ridiculous, and I'm surprised they don't have an option to disable the censor, given that we should have a choice to.

Ban policy was changed during Asylum exploits. Soft bans were created due to the amount of players we were reporting and getting banned back then. They unbanned the exploiters that weekend. Streamers were on twitch showing everyone the exploits, can't ban all the streamers right? so... enter soft bans
Once sooft bans were created, the bans became 1-3 day type of timeouts or "soft bans"
Now, its all censored so you cant even report them, and no bans.

There's a problem when a game censors words and titles that exist within the game itself.
I get trying to censor racial slurs or strange, malicious phrases, but when you censor names of perks, core concepts of the game, and basic discourse - you've done goofed.
This censor system would be pretty heavy handed for a children's game... this game is for adults.
Nobody should be bullying others to suicide - but '#########' cannot be censored in chat - because PLAYERS CAN LITERALLY KILL THEMSELVES IN THE MATCH.

Even though saying 'they're killing themselves on hook' is common nomenclature for this game when you see someone on a hook attempt escape and fail checks to intentionally die as soon as they can.

I watched someone struggle to write "My ping" is bad. It was hilarious. No idea why dbd would censor "my ping" in chat, but they struggled for 10 different lines trying to type it out so it wasn't just #'s.

They just need to get rid of the post-game chat altogether. Its only purpose is to serve as a platform for toxicity. Best case scenario is that people will just say “gg”, which is completely pointless.

Thats not true at all. Its like 50/50. I've had great matches where we were complementing each others plays. I've had people ask me about builds im running or I'm asking how they are using their perks. There is valuable discourse in the endgame chat.

Town is censored. #########. I was trying to yell at people to "Stay outa muh town" and it wouldnt let me. So instead I had to say "Stay outa muh tiny city"

Solution: Add chat censor as an option to the settings and make it enabled by default.
Also add the option to disable chat completely, requiring a restart to change so you can't turn it on or off after a game. Add a big nice icon right next to anyone who cannot enter post game chat, including console players. It should help queue times since now survivors that wait for 15 minutes to tell the killer to kill themselves will just leave chat once they see the killer has chat disabled.
I mean I keep chat hidden, but hidden is not the same as disabled. I don't see the issue here. It's 90% just verbal abuse, may as well just let people turn it off.

But its not. It might be for you but for me the majority are fun or nice conversations. Those people who are telling others to one hook themselves need to be reported and punished. Everyone else shouldnt be punished because of a couple of bad apples.

That's true, which is why being able to enable or disable the filter as well as chat whenever you feel like it in the settings would be a good addition.
Besides, BHVR may not have throught about this, but there's another revolutionary idea a couple video game developers have thought up just recently called a "chat ban". Very experimental stuff though, for now we must choosing between banning someone from the game completely and not doing anything at all, at least until this incredible game mechanic becomes more fleshed out and refined.
