Predictions: Kindred might become baseline in some form
I could be completely wrong, but honestly I don't see how this could bring any harm to the game. Kindred is useless for SWF because of comms, however it's absolutely amazing for solo Q, where lack of information can often lead to a loss.
Kindred being baseline would make Solo Q much less miserable, obviously it would need to be tweaked in some way if it were to become baseline as it might be a little too powerful, but I think in general this would make survivor Solo Q a lot more enjoyable.

If you really believe that basekit Kindred would make solo queue much less miserable, then you gonna have a bad time.
Seen so often how my teammates ignore the aura reading and continue to do whatever they were doing OR (whats even worse) see how the killers aura vanishes in the basement and run straight for the unhook.

I somewhat doubt it- if they were planning on making Kindred basekit, or even just some form of it, wouldn't Kindred be on the list of perks that's getting changed?
Besides, I think their eventual plan for icon portraits gives the same kind of value to solo queue players, so that's probably a factor.

and then please make corrupt intervention as a base kit killer

Unfortunately there's only so much you can do to offset bad players. This will always be the curse of Solo Q.

All basekit BT would do would turn soloq into even more hook farming.
You think its bad now? Wait till errybody got BT, soloq will be one non stop hookfarming

Yes. Thats one of the reasons why i believe that the game should be balanced around what the best players can do, instead of what the worst ones do.
The players that want to improve, will eventually improve. But the ones that have no interest in improving their gameplay, won´t improve no matter how many QoL improvements you toss at them.

If Kindred became basekit I feel it would create less opportunities outside of camping for the killer BUT the main issue I imagine happening is it would just create this unfun obligation of "Who ever is closest now has the job to unhook and the others can focus on what ever specifically they were doing" for survivors and if things go south for the person meant to unhook people in the lobby just start to blame them instead of it being equally everyone's fault.
I don't want an enforced role / meta to happen because a perk became baseline.
The only thing I'd be okay with seeing as a basekit change for survivor similar to kindred is when someone is hooked you see all survivor auras for the same duration as the notification for a survivor getting hooked last.

They shouldn't make any aura reading basekit. Gives too much free information to the players with nearly no drawback. (aside from one person being on hook)

Realistically though why does the person on hook even need auras of other survivors aside from to give them something to see while waiting on hook. It only benefits SWF if there are solo players in the game.

The person on hook sees auras with or without kindred.. Or did you mean in general? I like seeing auras when I'm on hook because it lets me know if someone is coming or not, or if I should try to unhook myself or let myself die if the randos aren't bothering with trying to save me. (or if it's safe for me to take a sip of my drink or eat while waiting for the rescue)

Was referring to not understanding why someone on hook needs to see auras but I suppose that's a good point - Being able to unhook yourself. However if that's the only reason it just seems like it should be perk dependent like having Deliverance equipped or not. Luck needs a rework anyways.

Yeah, the unhooking yourself mechanics is not great, even with a full luck build and offerings from everyone, you can still reach struggle. I mean, you shouldn't be able to unhook yourself consistently either but 4% is pretty low

Unhook build OP /s

Guess I'll have to bring monstrous shrine next time I play vs you!

I guess most SWF havn't used this perk for far too long, if this is really the sentiment. Of course, running full meta builds is more "fun", but the info you get from running kindred+bond+open handed is just immense. People always confuse "hearing" and "knowing" where stuff is happening via coms with actually "seeing" it with the right perks. Give it a try

That's understandable, and honestly I lean the same way, I feel the game should be more-so balanced around the top rather than the average, but I do feel there's easy changes that have no affect on the top that could make the game for less skilled players more enjoyable. At the end of the day, the top are a minority, DbD is comprised of mainly average skill or low skill players. Same thing goes for virtually any other game with any kind of competitive scene.

Nooooo my only counter

That's also happening

The thing that would greatly improve newer players would be a sofisticated bot mode. Where you can set up everything on the bots. Skill level, loadout, how focused they are on altruism/gens/looping etc.
Enabling players to learn certain roles and new perks under safe conditions.
1 -
Agreed. Bots would also be amazing to practice things such as curving with Billy or other difficult maneuvers.
2 -
Heck, a survivorless mode would be good to practice lots of things on killer.
1 -
Just let me load into any map without needing another person that has bots I can place so I can practice Blight or something aghhh
1 -
Yeah.. The tutorial should let you select which character you play, not just trapper.. And choose your perks and the bots' perks (though it would probably be complicated to program the bots' ai to use the perks properly)
