Has anyone noticed a difference in their killer matches since SBMM went live?

Killer used to be a sweat fest, especially for me. There's nothing worse than tackling a killer you've never played before against a well experienced SWF. Getting toxic teabagging survivors at the exit gate because they knew they could completely own you also made it that much worse. I was hoping for fairer matches with SBMM, but soon after it was implemented I really didn't notice that much of a change. I took a break for quite some time, and I'm still reluctant to play killer. Have any killer mains noticed any difference?

My matches seem entirely random which I prefer anyway.

Mine have gotten super unbalanced lately. Too much sparing due to flans means I'm going against a lot of newbies (though towards the evenings, I start getting matched with random people and it's better.) Like I was using up flans on Legion today and I had six different players fall over from Deep Wound. Two at the same time, even. So enough 4es will tank you, that's for sure.

That said, they haven't implemented a time decay system yet, so your matches will probably be as sweaty as they were before you left.

That's what I was afraid of. I know that during certain times of the day, it doesn't matter what rating you have as it will be completely thrown out the window in order to cater to survivors that have been waiting in the lobby for a long time. This is one of the reasons why I've been looking forward to bots for such a long time. I would feel more comfortable going against a live team if I knew how to better handle a killer I've never played with before. I've invested 3.5 million blood points into Dredge, but I'm too reluctant to hop into an online match because I've never played with him before.

    Absolutely.

I started out two years ago, under GBMM and it was a nightmare. Maybe 1/10 of my matches was good.

Now, win or lose, I'd say that 3/5 are good - in that, no matter which killer I'm playing, it never feels like I couldn't win. The other 2/5 are one part 'okay, why am I facing a SWF player with 2500 hours to my 800?' and 'oof, those were newbies I think'.

It's not perfect, but it's better. If you want to ensure mostly even games, dodge any lobby that has 3-4 people waiting already when you join, as that's probably a backfill.

Yeah...I did that and it definitely pushed my MMR down heavily, so I've started getting everyone on their death hook and killing 3 at 1 gen if I can.

From how I understand it (I can't remember where I read this, but it makes sense from my experiences) - getting 1 kill and getting 0 kills gives you a very different MMR adjustment, with the first kill being worth the most 'points' MMR wise and the 4th being worth the least.

That's a mood. I just bought Deathslinger and I'm absolute butt with him. For some reason, I rolled several strong teams while I was looking to complete his achievements - one game where I got two hooks before endgame and did not land a single shot, another with a bully bodyblocker-double-locker-flashy-save squad that sent me to Suffo Pit who I only killed thanks to their collective allergy to gens. I would much rather figure out his timings and hitboxes on bots than embarrass myself in front of real players.

There's a few killers I've been very hesitant to play due to their steep learning curve or some factors I personally find unintuitive. The 115s, I can play like an M1 killer and figure out their power as I go, but the 110s (and Nurse) hurt if you don't know what you're doing.
