People with 0 hooks refusing to trade has been happening a lot recently to me

Just died on second hook because person kept hovering around it against a Huntress with 2 gens left and waited the last minute just to get grabbed (with another survivor being there as well).

Is the event so everyone just wants to escape no matter what?

I honestly do not remember this happening to me a lot people usually do stupid unhooks all the time or do not try at all

but doing NOTHING while being close to the hook is just pointless and perfect indicator of someone who is just bad at survivor, if you have 0 hooks your trade can be a difference between win for the killer and an escape. Hope they had fun in 3vs1 after I died for nothing lol

Yeah this sounds about right. Most of my games last night were very rough as in I'm being left on second hook/first hook because my teammates are either 20 meters from the hook hovering around for a save or just doing nothing. It's tricky saving against a huntress because she can go for the hatchet and m1 to deny the unhook, but you need survivors to pressure the unhook in hopes of keeping everyone alive.

As you said, survivors that do nothing at the hook is an indicator of an inexperienced survivor. Especially when there are two survivors there but neither pressure the hook. Certain killers you need to storm the hook for the save or just hook trade because time is what is needed, not some random escaping with 0 hooks.

I've noticed this as well. As mentioned by @Aneurysm , losing a survivor drops the survival rate far more significantly than someone getting a first or second hook.

As Killer, when I see four or five flans played I've been two hooking and letting everyone go for the past few days. I've noticed a definite uptick in survivors who are letting other players expire on their second hook even though I'm on the other side of the map. I've just been killing everyone at that point since especially if unhooks are not being contested and you still let a teammate die on their second hook that's a terrible thing to do to your teammate.

I don't mind taking a hook to help out a fellow teammate, unfortunately though the favor is rarely returned and I'm left to die.

Lot of people who haven't played this game since the last event (or for long time) began to play again (grievers, trolls etc...). They're here to just get easy bloodpoints and flans and ruin peoples games (many of them streamers and Youtubers who came to get easy views). They'll go away eventually when the event ends.
