Camping is getting a buff

First off, let me express that it is absolutely amazing that the devs are committing to making massive changes to this game. Thank you so much for listening to the community and for taking risks. I think that in the long term, it will be great for the game as a whole.

However, one tiny problem; camping as a killer strategy wasn't touched, and if anything, is now even stronger.

Generators now take 90 seconds to complete up from 80 (Overall a good change), but the hook timer is still 60 seconds per stage. This isn't an issue against killers that allow survivors to hook trade, especially with a few of the new anti-tunneling measures. But what if getting into the unhook action in the first place is impossible?

Killers like Bubba and Billy, who have insta-downs can, by face camping at well-placed hooks (like basement hooks), prevent survivors from even getting a hook trade. Currently, smart survivors can negate this strategy by just doing gens, and will usually get a two-man out, sometimes a three-man out if the final chase is good. But this patch will add 50 additional seconds for survivors to complete their objective. With the right build, maybe Deadlock, DMS, NOED, No Way Out for example, it might be difficult for any survivors to make it out most matches.

Hook timers should be adjusted accordingly. It should take 70 seconds for survivors to progress to the next hook stage in keeping with the generator time increase (so 140 seconds total from first hook to death on hook). Between higher gen times and a better killer basekit in chase, this shouldn't overly disadvantage the killer player. What it will do is make camping less viable, and thus, the game more exciting for more people.

Looks like DEVs didn't think of the consequences of longer gen times. Unless you a total potato, right now you can easily get 2k as a killer by just standing next to the hooked survivor and you have plenty of time to catch and hook a second survivor. And if things go wrong for survivors it can end up in 3k or 4k. Just by standing next to a hook most of the match time. Not many killers do that, because it's boring, but some killers do. And it's silly that the game allows this and the issue is still not addressed. With this update it's gonna be worse.

Hard camping the first hook is already the best strategy for every killer except maybe nurse and Blight.

These changes are generally healthy for killers, but absolutely unhealthy against solo survivors if the killer plays in that way, which most do these days because it is the best "strategy".

Complete lack of foresight on the devs part.
