Tome Challenge Question - Tome 4

Quick question,
I am currently attempting the "Seal the Deal" challenge in Tome 4 of the Compendium. It is a Killer Master challenge that requires you to hit a survivor with your weapon 10 Times while using Hex: The Third Seal. I am currently using Huntress because I have Third Seal on her, but I have gotten 10 hits (Mix of Ranged and M1 hits) and still have not completed the challenge.
Does anyone know if it needs to specifically be an m1 hit to count, it does not specify.

"Hit a Survivor with your weapon" is always M1 as far as I know

Yes this is with the main weapon so a base M1 attack.
