Why I think Video Tape is a bad addon for Pig?

Video Tape is an iridescent addon that causes survivors to start with an reverse bear trap on their heads.

My question is, whats the advantage of this?

The answer is, it saves you the time of setting traps and promotes more effective camping strategies in early game.

For an iridescent addon, saving you the time to set traps is pretty weak, and any gameplay that promotes camping shouldn't exist in the game.

If you don't agree with this, I want you to ask yourself these questions.

Does video tape make reverted bear traps more lethal? Answer: No

Does video tape make reverted bear traps harder to remove? Answer: No

Are reverted bear traps more oppressive early than mid or late game? Answer: No

In the end, the time a Reverse Bear Trap makes a Survivor lose is the same as setting them manually, and chasing a survivor with the reversed bear trap is not going to help you win the chases.

I think its an addon for fun. What do you think?

I like it because it feels like a Saw movie, when you’re a survivor and you spawn with it already on. But yeah, it’s not the strongest add-on.

Maybe it could be made more lethal by having a shorter duration than a standard RBT too, so survivors can’t ignore it so easily.

It's definitely more thematic and interesting than it is explicitly valuable - I think with the dramatic effect it does have on the game it probably wouldn't be appropriate to downgrade it to say, a purple. Even so, it's neat and I'm glad it exists.

I kinda have to agree. I absolutely get the flavor for the add-on, but mechanically it has a high chance of just being a liability by making you blow ALL of your stall potential at the very start. Tbh, I think the re-work for that particular add-on was a failure.
