Killers playing with no perks, add ons or offerings?
I've seen this multiple times in the past few days. Is there some kind of streamer challenge or something? What's the point?

When I'm running killer just to do event or tome stuff (like getting invites), and not playing to win, I usually drop add-ons/offerings and change up my perks. No sense wasting anything for it. I've seen other killers do the same when I'm playing survivor.
There are some achievements that involve using only 1/2/3 of certain types of perks, so that could be coming into play as well.
Strong killers who's players are decent to high skill with the killer can get away with using little to nothing loaded and still do very well, particularly on the low/mid areas of MMR. Nurse, Blight, etc.
Some killer players may do it because it makes it more of a challenge for them, especially if they keep getting lower skill/MMR groups. It can also prolong the trial for both killer and survivors to get more BPs and have more fun instead of just wiping the survivors quickly, getting low BPs, and no one really getting any fun out of it.
It's not really anything new, but is likely going on more because of the event bringing out more of both survivors and killers of various skill/MMR levels. You'll also tend to see it more after the MMR resets each month.

Ive wondered that too. The killers ive ran into doin it have all been pretty good, so its not like theyre just new or somethin. Kinda strange.

I did that when I was farming for masks. I don't want to slug the last survivor, I dont want some hostage build to search every where with.
Other then that, I don't know why someone would except for the personal challenge.

Once you become a good killer, ranking up and depipping becomes rather tough and an absolute sweat fest. Some of us would rather play 5-7 chill games with nothing at stakes, only aiming for 8 hooks in order to power through the next rank barrier at a lower MMR.

There are some achievements that both killers and survivors can get by running a lesser number of perks of certain types, so that's a possibility as well.
Particularly strong killers being ran by players that are good at them will sometimes run with nothing loaded as it's not needed to excel at the killer, particularly in the low to mid MMR ranges. Nurse, Blight, etc.
Some killers will go unloaded for more of a challenge for themselves, such as to help strengthen their base playing ability or learn to play the killer as-is before making modifications (such as deciding which perks will benefit their play style more).
Killers will sometimes do it to both make the trial more challenging and to prolong it, especially if they keep being grouped with lower skill//MMR survivors due to poor matchmaking options. It'll result in more BPs and fun for the killer and survivors, instead of just wiping the survivors and ending the trial quickly, leading to poor BPs/wasted items and it not being fun for anyone.
With the current event bringing out many more survivors and killers of various playtime and experience, it's no doubt caused this to appear more frequently.
This is also typically seen just after MMR resets each month.

This might not be the case, but just in case: Killer builds don't show up in the post-match thing unless the match is actually over, so that SWF groups can't report to the rest of their team what someone is running. Is it possible you're just seeing that?
