Does anyone just accept fate in soloqueue when they hear Nurse.
Every time, I hear nurse I know we're all going to die.
From all the soloque matches I play, I absolute know we're not going to make it. Of course I won't just throw the match but don't expect miracles when your against a decent nurse. It's usually a complete wipe out for soloque.
I'm not saying Nurse needs changing, I'm just saying she's from a completely different time of DBD and the devs are in a weird position when it comes to her. You nerf her and she's really bad for newer players but if you tweak her she's basically fundamentally the same unless her blinks are gone.
Edit: Okay so here's my last 10 known games with Nurses.
5/10 times it was a complete wipe out. 1-3 gens were done but team crumbles under pressure.
2/10 times someone escaped.
2/10 times I escaped by playing like a absolute rat.
1/10 times 2 people managed to escape (Without me).

What, are you trying to survive in solo que?
18 -
I’m delighted! Opportunity for a fun match.. if the other survivors will play it our normally too.
4 -
My friends prefer to play Valorant so I torture myself by playing it Soloque for the last 4 years.
And when I hear Nurse's screech I cuss audibly cause I know I'm totally going to get smashed.
17 -
Depends on the map, usually. If the team isn't terrible AND she's not running those addons, Nurse matches can be fun.
But if I'm running bad/niche perks to do a challenge and it's Nurse, then yeah, I usually give up any hope of getting it done.

And this is why the nurse needs a complete rework. Bhvr needs to make her power appealing to new and old players and balance her killing statistics. Her teleportation needs to go. She’s outdated game design and she makes people give up immediately. I see it every day in my solo q matches.
And I understand the people giving up against her because she IS overpowered.
24 -
you never know with solo q.
you could get a God Nurse, but that God Nurse could end up getting clowned on because they were unfortunate enough to face the Blendette/Nea Urban+Self Care Spine Chill in a corner squad and they just get absolutely ghosted.
The biggest issue I run into with Nurse is managing survivor morale. Teams seem to break down rather quickly. At least with a Bubba, more often than not people will stay on hook to give their death some meaning to help the others escape, but with Nurse it's like "nah i'm out"

Nurse, and Legion
0 -
If I'm doing an escape challenge then yeah
0 -
Your right, my Morale breaks down really quickly when it comes to her and that's hard to do that to me.
The sheer intimidation factor makes teams give up and it annoys me cause we usually cannot get normal matches.
Soloque life hard.
1 -
Even in a SWF we'll just one hook out. There's no fun to be had in a nurse match.
18 -
Yeah people will rather die than playing against this broken mess called nurse. And that says enough.
2 -
I feel you, even though I don't play with friends. I just want out lmao.
1 -
Just this, no matter how much buff survivors get, no matter how many nerfs killers get, solo que never fix itself for reasons.
0 -
BHVR needs to fix solo queue. We as the players can only do so much ourselves.
7 -
Uh I feel opposite, literally every single players on solo que has to be good in order to fix solo que, BHVR can't really do anything about player skills.
2 -
Not true.
Trapper for example can be someone fairly played against with just Soloque.
Spirit and Blight against Soloque is chaotic but at least it's fun.
But Nurse? Everyone just like, gives up. Or is running around trying to think of a plan while someone gets to stage 2 on their hook.

No, I'm not high enough MMR as solo survivor to get the god nurses and I've played Nurse enough to know how high her skill floor really is. My recommendation would be to play Nurse on the side until you can fairly accurately land blink attacks on average survivors. After that, you'll find most Nurses at mid MMR or less pretty easy to counter. It's not that Nurse can't be countered; it's just that her counters are different than most Killers.

I still try my best at the game I can't say for the rest of my team but, I'll try to complete the gens or run the nurse as best as I can.
7 -
Same thoughts, if I maybe rush gens I could save the team. MAYBE.
2 -
I know but when I main trapper I usually do fine with him. Hell I even 4k more often than I thought.
But when I'm up against a SWF, I ABSOLUTELY will know and feel it.

I'm running Overcome, so I bring my best HOLD W AND PRAY game.
4 -
I ran overcome and when trickster injured me he just gave up while I was running away. Absolutely funny.

well, in the matches i play, only 1 or 2 out of 5 nurses are really good. The match is over in 3 minutes then anyway, so nothing really lost.
In the other 3-4 chases the nurses can be outplayed to various degrees. Some will get you, but can extend chases, some break the chase after 3 minutes they couldnt get you, and some seem to learn that this mouse-thingy on the computer is doing.
so, god -nurse is rare enought to just lose a game to them once in a while. no big deal.

No, I embrace the challenge. Sure, against a really good nurse you are probably toast, but most aren't THAT good and you can often bamboozle them the first two blinks by doubling back at them, then the next time running straigth ahead and after that every blink is a mind game and I like to surprise myself by being as random as possible. It feels good when you actually run a Nurse for a gen or something like this and even better when she gives up and breaks chase. In all events you won big time.
Good nurses might anticipate this behaviour and just mercilessly cut you down, but you can run into any expert-level killer, so thats just that.
4 -
I just hope I can get some BP, I don't expect to escape.
1 -
I don't plan on making it easy for her, but I learn to lower my expectations when I hear the scream.
1 -
Literally just escaped a Nurse as a solo on Midwich. Hooked once (right as I was opening an exit), but two of the other survivors were on death hook. 4-person escaped. Even finished the Rift challenge to escape with a basement item.
So, short answer to the question .. no. Nurse can be beaten. Not easily, but not impossible, even solo.
6 -
So you want to lower Nurse skill to Trapper level ? Interesting.
1 -
Nurse isn't impossible to beat you just can't treat her like you do every other killer in the game, I won't give up just because I hear it's a nurse I've survived and died against some of the best out there, to me that's when the game becomes fun because you're gonna have to sweat if you wanna survive a good one it's not just gonna get handed to you
5 -
If someone goes down within the first 20 seconds of the match yeah its kinda gg. It's just a massive slow ball that cant be stopped if they are somewhat competent as Nurse.
1 -
Nurse can definetely be extremely overwhelming at times, sure.
But i would argue that most nurse players aren't god nurses so it's definetely worth trying.
3 -
except that the devs have publicly said kill rates are too low across the board. Try again
6 -
I switch entirely to stealth. I can easily outlive bold teammates and have a chance at escape. With stealth you can usually make her waste more time searching then most players can last in chase.
1 -
That’s a good way to go. A lot of survivors these days have problems with stealth (albeit it has been heavily nerfed on the core map reworks and graphics, there are also more stealth perk options). They probably watch too much survivor steamer YouTube gameplay, expecting to taunt and dunk on every killer player out there. Even Nurses.
5 -
The only time a perk that improve crouch speed become useful.

Well, there’s also Hag. 😉 The occasional sweet spots on certain maps too!

Try what?

I pretty much only solo queue. I haven't actually kept track, but I would say I escape against a nurse at least ***50% of the time. Nurse can be OP, especially against a solo queue, and especially with certain add-ons, but her learning curve is also pretty steep. There are a good amount of Nurses who are still learning and they are fun to loop. I say "accept your fate" of taking chase as much as possible to learn how to juke them. If they blink where they think you're going to be without keeping line of site... PUNISH them for it LOL. If I'm running around a corner and no longer see them while looking behind me, and hear them blink, I double back. This works against even somewhat decent nurses if they're in that bad habit of blinking on faith. All in all, a really good nurse, you're going to need more than that, but the more you juke beginner-intermediate nurses, you get better, and the matches get funner :)
All in all, Nurse is a tough killer to play as, and play against, but its not always a death sentence as long as you don't try to loop them around tiles, the same way you would most other killers. Breaking line-of-sight will be your best friend as the nurse is SOOOOO much slower than other killers when she's not using her blink to travel. Survivors run at 4.0m/s and Nurse "runs" at 3.6m/s so unless she's blinking she's actually slower than you.
1 -
No, it's not entirely too hard to outplay a nurse as it all relies on indeterminacies and guessing really. Solo queue against a nurse does usually end up in at least someone giving up and running the nurse while no one else does anything.
The main problem is that nurse was originally designed to be a high skill high reward killer amongst generally easy to use killers, at the time the only other challening killers were billy and doctor. Anybody can pick up nurse and get decent at it, you don't need to be a "God Nurse" to 4k, the only reason anyone would aim to be a "god nurse" is to get into their next game quicker. On top of the fact that nurse is not that hard to play is the fact that "true" counterplay to nurse is mindnumbingly repetitive and boring. Looping M1 killers requires both sides to come up with a mindgame in a tile while the nurse mindgame is simply "Are they going to run backwards toward me".
1 -
I'm glad everyone's finally realizing how BS nurse is.
0 -
I go full "whatever happens happens" mode and just don't sweat even a little. If she's good? I just die quickly and move on. If she's avarege? I get to earn some points and fool around a bit. She's bad? I'm getting all the bones and chests I see and maybe just leave with some new stuff as a reminder.
0 -
Nah. Team usually gets at least 2 out unless it's an absolutely insane Nurse.
1 -
Nurse is the most broken killer in the game, and the obvious thing to do would be for hte dev team to evaluate why. However they are too busy nerfing all the perks that give you any chance against her. so expectations of them doing anything to help in that fight should be minimal. These guys have no idea the path they are setting sail for this game....along with the new perk changes its not going to take long before most people just say im done
1 -
stopped reading after i saw escaped at 50 percent rate in solo q against nurse.. you arent fooling anyone sorry
1 -
sad to say this but most of the one who "realizing" how BS nurse has been complaining about nurse for long time, it's just that this is the trend.
0 -
Considering it's been like that for killers for eternity and game is still alive, doing same for survivors wouldn't kill game too.
0 -
Show us your winstreak if she is so easy to play.
3 -
How about you find a nurse winstreak yourself? Theres thousands of winstreaks and gameplay of her on youtube.
0 -
I am talking about your own skill, not someone else. Otz did a winstreak on almost every killers, it doesn’t mean they all are broken or overpowered.
If she is so easy, prove it. You should be able to get at least a 100 winstreak don’t you think ?
3 -
Huh? there is thousands of winstreaks of literally everything, including soloq.
