DMS should not block generators being worked on by two people

I am really sick of going against the Artist and having to suffer through DMS every time mainly because, and I don't know if this is intended, whenever I'm repairing with someone and DMS is active if the other person leaves the gen, even if I'm still repairing the damn thing still gets blocked. Why is that ok?? If I haven't let go of the gen then it shouldn't get blocked until everyone has let go of the gen.
