Who's up for some gore??

I really think gore should be added into the game as an option. So many different aspects of the game can be improved just by adding some lacerations and bone breaking here and there. Moris would become sensational to watch, killer's powers would become truly scary, and Dead By Daylight would become more of a horror-striking game. I think with the slowly improving graphics of the game, and the wide arrange of killers and different ways to get injured, there could be real potential to add some true-to-life injuries into the game and display them properly on the character.

Here are some of my personal ideas:

The survivor becoming more generally battered as they go through the hook states, e.g broken ribs, general cuts around the body and marks from where survivors have been hit etc etc.

The Killer's powers becoming more gorey, such as Pig's headtrap, and Michael's tombstone, where players could be able to visibly see damage to the body of the survivors where the weapon connects with the player.

Moris becoming a large amount more violent and gorey, giving players a unique experience both on the giving and recieving side of a mori.

Current in-game gorey details becoming more in-depth, such as leaving blood trails and survivors holding themselves when injured.

I know there will be some combat to this suggestion, and my friend pointed out the fact that the game has a largely under-18 player base, however the T&Cs of making a Dead By Daylight account clearly state the following: "By entering into this Agreement and creating an Account, you represent that you are an adult and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract in the jurisdiction where you reside.", basically meaning you have to be over the age of at least 18 to create an account and play the game. I believe the gore option, if added, should be a toggle on/off switch in the graphics section of the settings, given I believe an update of such magnitude would be quite graphically demanding, and some players may choose not to endulge themselves in such violence and gore.

Here I have a post from u/Pingasterix , who posted a thread on the Dead By Daylight subreddit, expanding on my point.

The reddit user makes a clear point, and outlines that there really is only one proper-gorey aspect to the game, and that is The Clown's Mori. Although, I'd have to disagree, the game does deserve Mortal Kombat level of gibbing.

Feel free to add your own suggestions to the bottom and contradict my points, and please vote your feelings about the matter.

Thanks

yep. i always thought that the animations and the ideas themselves are pretty violent, but the actual impact is not severe enough. it's just ketchup explosion. for a game that marks itself the horror hall of fame, it's lacking in the gore department badly.

In my opinion, it should be a setting.

    three choices:

No gore (/reduced gore) - for those who enjoy the gameplay but are squeamish. Honestly, this is almost an accessibility thing, I know people who'd love to play but just can't take the gore at its current levels.

    Medium gore (as is)

Ultra gore - shlocky gorefest personified.
