Is having a unhook process canceled when you get hit intentional?

Maybe its just me, but it seems a little messed up that you can be unhooking someone and even though the bar fills if you get hit the unhook gets canceled. Does anyone know if this is intentional or not? Seems to me that if you want to trade yourself for a teammate on the hook then you should be able to without them still being knocked immediately because the first unhook was cancelled like that.

Definitely intentional. It's the same for every action in the game excluding pallet drops and vaults.

    Every other action gets interrupted

You may intend on sacrificing yourself for the survivor on the hook, but in reality, you are only farming them, so the animation cancellation helps prevent that.

The animation gets cancelled so I can down you for farming your friend AND down your farmed friend too.

I think if the hooked person gets hit while you're trying to unhook them it still gets canceled (for some reason)

not necessarily. say it's end game and the gates are open. if the person on hook is about to die and I have yet to be hooked, I'm gonna want to trade with them. if i get downed unhooking thek, they can make it to a gate, especially since i always run borrowed

I think that survivors cheating killers out of an grab by canceling animations instantly is not so much better.
