Prestige icon is trash to long term players
Just after reading the comments on here, I feel like a lot of people feel the same that the prestiged icon isnt really worth the literal hundreds of millions of bloodpoints i put into the game. I definitely dont think this is the biggest issue with the game right now but is definitely disappointing.

Well, I'm curious to see what the icons look like at high prestige levels. If they are all literally just brown icons with a number in them that's kind of lame. Was hoping the higher your prestige, the cooler and more detailed the icon is.

there is an iridescent for P3 I'm pretty sure, but still idk if thats really worth

I hope so, because for now, I don't feel rewarded for all the P3 I have done. If it ends with real cool icons... Well, it won't change the fact it's just an icon we can see for a few seconds in the end game screen, but that would be better than nothing...

If that's true, my disappointment is immeasurable. I noticed there's a silver-coloured prestige icon, I hope that's not what the P3 reward is lol.
2 -
I mean you didn't needed reward to begin with, right?
5 -
And you didnt need the grind reduction, right?
12 -
Do you play because you have fun, or do you play for some shiny icon on the end screen?
1 -
what? Grind reduction was needed for general game health and pretty much everyone agreed on that..

Yeah, lazy design!
I hope it's just a placeholder and they will surprise us with a nice icon.

It's more than disappointing. It's bad for who receives it, and bad for who doesn't.
From the POV of people who P3ed their character losing bloodpoints, event items and offerings in the proces, the icon is not something that commemorates or "repays" properly the efforts done, so it's not seen as a good reward.
From the POV of people who didn't prestige, the icon can be seen as another exclusive thing that they'll miss out with no option at all to be gained in the future, leaving a sour taste in the mouth.
It is a meaningless reward, but at the same time it's still an exclusive one. They could have done so many other things and instead chose the worst path available.

Pretty sure you'll also be put at a much higher prestige, close if not already prestige 7,8 or 9 (if you've unlocked all perks at P3). And at those prestiges you also unlock charms, so that's something else I suppose.
Also keep in mind that those that aren't already P3 will have to get all the way to P6 to unlock the current P3 cosmetic (*I think!*).

huh?
I remember everyone asked for grind reduction everyday, but none really asked for compensation.

That's kinda what I was thinking..... That games just fun. Although the Tomes and Trophies are my end goal because I just like collecting things like a lil goblin.

Well I'm shallow so Yes I want a dam shiny icon dang it. I want to to be all glittery and shinny. I want it to glow and I want it to dance for me like a Las Vegas show girl....I want....umm I want.....where was I going with this joke again I forgot......

I don’t care at all about the icon personally. The reduction in time it takes to unlock new perks on every other character when you buy a new killer though is great. 🙂

They could have just said nothing about a “reward” for P3ing and everyone would she be happy for less grind, BUT because BHVR tried to do something a little nice for those who decided to P3, everyone gotta complain and beg like spoiled children lol.
it’s like giving a kid some candy for doing well in the grocery store, vs telling them I’ll give them candy IF they are good and they spend the whole time in store annoying and loudly trying to find the biggest and best candy and then thinking they deserve it xD

Last time they reduced the grind players got legacy. This reduction is way bigger than that one and we get a charm? Or icon? That is a joke. Im 7 characters shy (half at p1 50) of having all characters maxed and this reward is pathetic for the effort

I already knew not to be hyped for a reward. I just knew it was going to be something rather underwhelming.
New legacy prestiged cosmetic > prestiged legacy icon

The prestige icon is ironic as a reward because I want to hide my prestige level. It's not something I'm interested in showing off.
I will complain on a daily basis for the rest of eternity if there's not an option to keep my prestige level private.

I have to agree this is a poor reward, especially after them being all silent like it was something interesting. If you want to make it worth all that work and grind, this is nothing. Extreme amounts of bp spent and you get some icon that most people wont see or care about is next to worthless and kind of a slap in the face in my opinion.

Legacy looks horrible, they managed to delete it and never return it to a load of people, and is now the unofficial cheater uniform. None of that is worth repeating.

yeah id rather not give other people more ammo against me especially if I played awfully lol, like "wow this prestige 5 hillbilly was so awful" and just not really something I have ever wanted to actively show off.
and i am not envying the day where people start complaining about having a prestige 4-6 player in their lobby when they are only prestige 2 saying its unfair.
so please give an otpion to hide it lol..

I mean, if you're getting a Prestige 50 Huntress as a 100 hour Survivor, I think you have a right to be upset.
0 -
yeah, but its just annoying that its going to probably be the same as grades were when mmr was up is what I mean, but it doesn't actually accurately show skill or unfairness and sometimes people just have more time to spend on the game than others, but still kinda suck like me. I just have been playing for a while, but if you ever saw me play Onyro you would think I was the most awful killer in existence because I don't even have any idea how to play her well lol. <.>

If you don't play a Killer a lot, you probably aren't gonna have them Prestiged highly, if at all.
For example, I don't play Billy. Even when he was fun, I didn't like him. I might be P1 with him and am subsequently very bad.
My Nemesis and Blight however, are likely going to be at least P5, if not more if I'm understanding how the system works.
You won't have Prestige Levels on a Killer you don't level up a lot.

I have been playing since 2017 off and on and have every killer prestige even.. hag.. and artist... didn't even have the heart to play them consistently and just dumped all the bloodpoints I earned and prestige them instantly lol.

I've still prestiged 8 of my most miserable killers because of the announce.
The 9th is on the queue.
(One was already prestiged).
So even for "nothing", there is some motivation.

You won't have Prestige Levels on a Killer you don't level up a lot.
But you'll probably go at least to Prestige 9 with all of them just t to get the charms, which is not exactly a low prestige level
So yeah, the prestige level could be an indication of playtime, but could at the same time very well not be an indication of skill, just like ranks
0 -
yeah i prestige even my least favorite killers because I knew there would eventually be rewards for it when the reworked it, i am actually kinda looking forward to the charms though hope they arent survivor or killer exclusive though. I want self care on my hooks so when im running mangled and thana I can tell the survivors to please self care. I am only joking though lol.

Still, higher Prestige Level will generally indicate more time played which generally indicates you are better at that Killer.
0 -
Generally, yes, but it doesn't guarantee that you're good with it
Just like ranks, people will see a high prestige level and assume they played against a much better player because it's easy to compare the numbers you see, and it's going to be the whole rank/matchmaking debate all over again
0 -
And I don't think that's unreasonable.
Obviously, if there's someone with 40 Prestige Levels on one Killer and you've got 100 hours, that's not really a good match.

I'm terrible at Spirit because I can't track via sound. And Onryo I've only played a handful of times. But they're the two killers I've put the most BP into because I like Asian horror. Nemesis is the killer I play most right now, but I stopped putting BP into him once I got my four main perks unlocked.
Meanwhile, all my survivors are at about the same prestige level. If I'd dumped BP into one single survivor, they'd be really high, but since they're spread out evenly it doesn't give any hint about how much time I've spent playing survivor or which one is even my favorite.
Prestige is just about BP spent, it doesn't signify playtime at all.

I mean BHVR doesn't have to give us anything. People have already prestiged because they wanted the bloody cosmetics or just because they wanted to max out a character; anything BHVR give out now it just a bonus. I really don't like how entitled so many people on these forums are about this.

There's nothing stopping someone pumping all their bloodpoints in a killer they don't play too often. Prestige level is as useless as Rank to determine 'skill'.
