Does anyone know when depth of field was introduced and taken away from the game?
I find myself searching yt videos for this effect. Depth of field was when you looked into the distance and it was blurry, creating a really good horror like feel. This is the main in game mechanic/graphic that I remember being amazing, and it's what provided the horror/spooky feel to dead by daylight.
Does anybody know when this was introduced into the game and gotten rid of. It would also be great if anyone has the patch notes for it or the specific versions that DOF occurred in.
I do know about the hair glitches it was causing and that was the reason it was taken away.

Yea I hate having the survivors and killer basically waving at each other from across the map. DoF shouldn't be too resource heavy.
I wonder if they removed it because pc players could turn it off in gpu drivers? Would be pretty irritating being sniped by Huntress from across the map when I can't see 20 feet in front of my character.
Fear of the unknown is a huge part of tension building so clear visibility is a bummer for the horror atmosphere.

Can confirm you could turn the fog 90% off with some setting changes.
