Could we please get some changes to The Onryo? I have a few suggestions!

I'm sure we are all aware that Sadako Rising is one of the newest chapters in Dead by Daylight, but funnily enough The Onryo feels more like a Pre-Buff Wraith with a teleport than she does a totally new and terrifying killer. Before we get into the post, keep in mind I am not an adept Onryo player, I'm simply an average guy who's been playing for a sizable amount of time that has collected a few ideas as to how to improve her power. Even something as simple as QoL improvements would go wonders in her usability. Without further-a-do, let's get into the post!

To start off with, I have a few QoL improvements that I feel could be enough to make her active power feel much more engaging;

  • Reduce the cooldowns for TVs by half. (Tape = 60s → 30s, Projection = 100s → 50s.)
  • Remove the slowdown for manifesting entirely.
  • Make the Bloody Fingernails addon basekit. (+50% speed increase duration for Post-Projection.)
  • Reduce the internal cooldown of cancelling Demanifestation to 0.5s. (Was 1.25s.)
  • Increase the available TVs on the map by 2.

If any of the suggestions below can't be implemented for whatever reason, I'd personally be more than content with these QoL changes.

That being said, I also have a few ideas that closely correlates on The Onryo's condemned mechanic. Right now, Sadako's condemned is like a side mission that only poses a threat when the killer forces it onto you. In my opinion this isn't good power design and it limits how Onryo players can perform. Below is my ideal version of a rework on the condemned mechanic that makes it more interactive on both sides;

  • When a Survivor is within 16 meters of an active TV, their condemned meter will increase at 50% the usual rate.
  • When a Survivor is within 16 meters of a demanifested Onryo, and they're looking in her direction, their condemned meter will increase at 50% the usual rate. This effect stacks if there's an active TV nearby.
  • When a Survivor is within 16 meters of a flickering Onryo, and they're looking in her direction, their condemned meter will increase at 100% the usual rate. This effect stacks if there's an active TV nearby.
  • If a Survivor is carrying a Cursed Tape, their condemned meter will increase at 100% the usual rate. This effect does not stack with neither TV nor flickering condemnation, but does stack if the survivor is looking at a demanifested Onryo.
  • The Onryo, alongside survivors, can see an accurate condemned meter around survivor portraits.
  • When The Onryo projects to an active TV, a full stack of condemned is still given to peering Survivors.
  • In addition to the changes above, certain tiers of condemned would add unique debuffs to the survivors. As condemned progresses, the previous effects will remain until the survivor is cleansed from the curse.
  • Tier 2: Survivors who are Injured by The Onryo are afflicted with the Mangled Status effect.
  • Tier 3: Survivors who are Injured by The Onryo are afflicted with the Hemorrhage Status effect.
  • Tier 4: Survivors no longer hear The Onryo's Lullaby while demanifested.
  • Tier 6: Survivors who are Injured by The Onryo are afflicted with the Broken Status effect.
  • Tier 7: Survivors are now afflicted with the Exposed Status affect on top of the current mechanics.
  • Starting at Tier 2 and worsening with each tier of condemnation, survivors will see visions of The Onryo similarly to how survivors see hallucinations with The Doctor. (The player model would phase in and out of vision as if it were the real killer demanifested and standing still.)

So, what does the Dead by Daylight forums think of my ideas? I'm curious to see if anyone has any disagreements and what you would like to see instead.
