Can We Get Rid Of Dissolutions Notifcation?
Why is that even a thing? I feel like A the TR requirement stifles it for all stealth killers including its owner and B The notification that it is active is also stifling. There is no tell for other perks that have to do with pallets and survivors learn quite fast they exist through gameplay. Please remove the TR requirement as well as telling the survivor the killer has the perk equipped and maybe killers can get some use out of it. Why make ANY perk reliant on a terror radius? It is a huge slap in the face to the mikeys and ghostfaces of the fog. Please serious think about this. Make it a 32 meter range and while in chase

The perk notification is meant for it to have the same effect against SWF and Solo, remove the notification and all that happens is Solo's suffer

Perks like Bamboozle or Starstruck dont notify the entire team, why should this one?
14 -
Yeah its incredibly dumb, when im playing survivor and see it pop up I now know to shift w after a pallet
3 -
Starstruck does notify the team as long as theyre in the TR, same as Dissolution.
As for Bambam, its just a passive perk. Doesn't have an activation requirement
3 -
Why? Cause its consistent with every other perk the works the same way?
2 -
Except it does way more than that. Even the first time dissolution gets activated in the match, all survivors in the terror radius will be notified. Even a swf would get blindsided by Dissolution at least once per game if the notification didn't exist.
7 -
Would a decent change be that any survivor losing another health state (after the initial activation with damage) within your TR would destroy all downed pallets within the TR? Too much? Ok?
1 -
Same could be said for Starstruck
0 -
Even if this were the case, the SWF would first have to lose a pallet to Dissolution and the killer would actually get some value out of the perk.
As it is, Dissolution barely works because survivors are forewarned not to do the thing it does anything about.
Starstruck still does something to you whether you like it or not. You can try to hide or run away, but you'll still get Exposed and the killer can potentially work with that.

Same can be said for Starstruck, killer could at least get a down before notifying everyone
And Dissolution does work even if its effect isnt triggered, just knowing the perk is active will prevent a Survivor from vaulting a pallet, meaning if theres nothing else around they have 2 options. Vault the pallet and take a hit, or not vault and try to find something else which isnt always available
1 -
I was initially against the dissolution icon but after using the perk for a while, if you know they know you have dissolution you can also anticipate them running loops differently while it's active and take full advantage of that.
It's not as destructive as it initially seems.
1 -
Those effects only notify survivors engaging in a related action while inside the terror radius and those perks are always on.
Dissolution only is active for 20 seconds and survivors get told before they have even engaged with the related action.

They actually do tho. Starstruck notifies whenever u are in its range ( same as dissolution). And bamboozle there’s literally a visual cue on the windows

The activation requirement is vaulting the window. Spirit Fury doesn't alert the survivor and that has a requirement. It's silly to alert the survivor. Thats like saying the killer should be notified of DS, BT, DH, Prove Thyself ETC.... The perk is useless if the survivor gets a tip of it activating. Also is dependent on a Terror Radius which means if the survivor is oblivious, or you are undetectable it won't activate.
7 -
What about Spirit fury? That doesn't alert the survivor. I think its silly to tell the survivor the killer has anything until they are affected by it IE the pallet breaking after the vault.
0 -
What are you getting at here? All I am saying is why make it dependent on Terror Radius. Just do what they did with Jolt make it a base distance from the killer. There is zero synergy with some perks and killers based on the TR requirement.
0 -
I'm saying that I don't think terror radius vs. distance from killer is the only issue with the perk.

It's a terrible perk in every possible way. Completely useless and wildly outclassed across the board. Even if it didn't warn survivors, it would still be awful.
Dissolution is a fantastic example of why you don't let survivor mains make killer perks. Small radius, difficult activation, start-up timer, internal Cooldown, requires survivor input both to initially throw the pallet then ALSO to vault it, only works on fast vaults, not slow or medium, does nothing to windows, alerts survivors when it's active, so they know to just run to the next loop instead of keep looping the existing one.
It's a monumental waste of time. The only way they could've made it worse was to make it only activate on M1 instead of any hit. And based on all the other layers of internal nerfs, I can just about guarantee you that the first version WAS M1 hits only.
2 -
The activation requirement is vaulting the window yes but other than that you just have the perk, you don't need to do anything else
Spirit Fury has a counter to it and thats to pre-drop pallets. Realize SWF do this much more than Solo Q teammates? Thats because they actually know that Spirit Fury is in play. Solo Q don't unless they're the ones it got activated on or they just so happen to be nearby. Dissolution would have the exact same problem if you remove the notif. Just because one perk has a problem don't mean adding it to another perk solves said problem.
idk why you just list of a few survivor perks but go on
The perk is far from useless as just like Starstruck its presence alone will make a Survivor play differently. They'll play a lot more safe and in the occasion that there is nothing else around they're basically dead.
I do agree on this last part. It being dependent on the Terror Radius is a bit odd, should just be a flat range.

Sorry I see you wrote that EndoFury has a counter to it. So does Dissolution!!! It would go off once and the survivor would know you had it and make sure not to vault the pallet or to embrace it!!! I just think the perk is super underpowered and would make people really not want to use it knowing it is just going to warn their enemies.

Because SF has pre requisites before its activation. Dissolution doesnt. And it works both ways u know. Many Surv perks alert the Killer as well.

@Shroompy Did I face you today? I was Lupin The Third in DBD and playing as Yoichi. Could have sworn you was my killer about maybe 2-3 hours ago?
0 -
Yeah i'm not entirely sure why its a thing.
Could you imagine if Killers got a notification of DS or Unbreakable when downing a Survivor? it would be ridiculous..
If lets say it appeared after the break then yeah it could slide because its already happened, but why when it hasn't done anything yet?
2 -
Its possible al though it would of probably been one of my last games of the night. Do you remember what killer?
1 -
I've gotten value out of dissolution all of once. Even without the notification, the perk would still be fairly useless.
Playing as survivor, I never even noticed the notification and just assumed it was in play. I find that I rarely need to vault a dropped pallet and can usually mindgame long enough for dissolution to deactivate.

When I tried this perk I got value about once per match even on the game. Not worth it unless your entire build is pallet breaking.

A lot of people seem to think that Dissolution only gets value when it literally breaks a pallet which isn’t the case. Dissolution puts survivors in a spot where if they vault a pallet they get hit, so they end up wanting to not vault pallets and taking riskier paths and getting hit because of that anyway. It’s the aspect of being hit regardless of what the survivor does that is the value of Dissolution, if a pallet happens to break in the process that’s just a bonus.
1 -
Here’s the problem: what is Dissolution’s activation condition? Injuring a survivor. What does injuring a survivor do? Give them a mini sprint burst, and put the killer in a cool down animation.
The smart play is to always leave a tile with your injury speed boost (with or without Dissolution). You go for a new tile with chances for windows, undropped pallets, etc. By the time the killer catches up, Dissolution is already deactivated too. So at the very least, you would need to switch targets after activating Dissolution. Though all survivors in your terror radius are forewarned of the perk’s existence. All around it is a terrible perk.
2 -
Breaking a pallet is nowhere near as strong as exposing up to 3 other survivors
2 -
Sure, the survivor's best play is almost always to run away after a hit. That's why Dissolution works best when you either are good at catching up against after a hit (e.g. a killer like Blight or Clown or in combination with Save The Best for Last) and/or are using a killer with good map mobility so you can get in a new chase really quickly.
And note that the survivors being warned of the perk's existence doesn't mean the perk is bad, it just means the survivors are not likely to literally break pallets if they're paying attention. But breaking the pallets isn't the value, it's keeping the survivor from using the pallet in the first place.
0 -
That's comparing apples and oranges. Starstruck only exposes people who are in your terror radius at the time you carry someone, but Dissolution affect any chase you as the killer are in while it's on after it activates regardless of where the survivors were at the time. I can be Blight, for instance, hit a survivor, then Rush 40 meters to a gen and chase another survivor and the perk is still going to affect pallets in that chase even though the survivor was nowhere near the original incident that triggered the perk activation. So in terms of the perk actually being active in your chases Dissolution is active MUCH more often than Starstruck is.

perfect explanation. Dissolution notification is like if killer had notification for how long BT lasts upon unhook.
Imagine decisive strike icon showing every time your standing on the body of a survivor. that would be even worse.
1 -
Which survivor perks alert the killer? Other than the global boon sound, or the broken status on no mother?
0 -
Boil over, DS, Power struggle, that haddie perk that gives you blindness, mind you all of this aside from boil over are useless alerts since they happen after the perk has come into play, unlike 90% of killer perks that alert survivors .
1 -
Youre right, thats why Starstruck has a cooldown and Dissolution doesn't.
0 -
I can't remember but I think I was the only one who got away. If I remember correctly, you were REALLY good but I couldn't comment on your profile.
0 -
Dissolution is pretty fun on clown and legion
0 -
I have comments open to anyone as far as I'm aware, but if this profile looks familiar to ya lmk :)
1 -
Dissolution gets a notification because it has a duration unlike spirit fury. Spirit fury is immediate and then it's over. Dissolution would be difficult for survivors to gauge without notification.
1 -
Ah, it wasn't you but someone had the name Shroompy but with another word after it so I wasn't sure if it was you or not lol.
1 -
The perk should have been the Jolt of pallets, as someone else mentioned (I think). Having the survivors needed to double trigger this perk (pallet drop/pallet fast vault) was over-kill. If a survivor goes down within a certain meter radius, then the perk should proc and destroy pallet. If that’s too strong, add a cool-down. At least give a lil control back to Killer, this perk is silly as is lol~
0 -
Then show killers the remaining duration of Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike because they're difficult for killers to gauge without notification
0 -
They added it because of wraith there would be one way to loop him and it can be countered by bamboozle
0 -
nah i enjoy seeing the dissolution notification at the bottom of my screen because it lets me know the killer i'm playing against wants to bloodlust me at a loop instead of try to actually down me propely
0 -
Yeah the perk is pretty bad now but to be fair it is reasonable why they played it safe
When it does it's thing it's more often then not results in a hit and a pallet that you don't have to waste time breaking anymore
It's useless now cause it never does it's thing but it would get busted very quickly if it happened even semi regulary
0 -
So theres an imposter on the loose..
Good to know ;)
