Hatch an escape - Tome 2 lvl 3 challenge.
Hey! i have returned to play dbd and im doing the previous tomes for BP and i've come to notice that this challenge: "Hatch an escape" (Unlock the hatch with a key 2 times) from Tome 2 lvl 3, has really low chances of being completed under the current hatch mechanics, anyone know if previous tomes challenges have ever been "updated" or something like that? Im currently just moving on from it, dont see the point on tryharding this challenge tbh if i can be doing others much easier.

As long as they're not impossible it won't be getting changed. Best chance now for that perk just find hatch with key and just hide nearby it until killer closes it and leaves.

It took me quite some hours to finish that one, but eventually some games will just click and the pieces will fall into place.
One thing that I did was NOT selecting keys at the start, but going for an Ace rumaging build and just hoped for an iri key to show up (which they do surprisingly often). I think I went with "Ace in the Hole", "Appraisal", "Open Handed" and "Left behind". In essence I would play the game normally and try to finde a key that could open the hatch. If I did so I would play much more safe and conservatively and, yes, I am ashamed to say so, like a d**k, letting other survivors die on hook :<
Then, if you manage to be the last one standing, you locate the hatch and hide; eventually the killer will come along and close it and then you just wait a lil bit longer and zoom in to escape. Its not glorious, but it worked for me (eventually).

If you are super desperate, and can change your displayed username, it might be worth a shot to put the challenge name in your name so that if you run into a killer who still has empathy for some bizarre reason will help you with it. I've given a poor David the 4 pallet stuns on Badham one time and he was super happy about it, telling me how he has been trying to do that challenge for weeks but just isn't that good at the game.

This is probably the most viable way to go about this. I pretty much filed all of the hatch opening challenges in the "pain in the butt, not even gonna try" column since the hatch changes took effect.

Either change your username and hope a killer has pity on you or find a swf, bring a hatch offering/ left behind / key, the swf immediately DCs or dies and you go get the hatch (i've seen people do this for adepts)

Some challenges force you to play like a complete baboon to get them done... Nothing to be ashamed of, you were just trying to complete your challenge. But I feel you. If I have such a challenge to complete, I feel super guilty then I sacrifice myself to save a teammate for forgiveness.

M8 I did that challenge 2 days ago and believe me it ain't hard, not even trying to brag, just bring a map offering that spanws hatch at shack or main building, bring your red key and reveals survivors aura, and be the last one to leave, walk pass the hatch purposely with the killer chasing you and you are the only surv left in the game, 9/10 times he will close the hatch when he sees it open. And just slowly walk back to the hatch and unlock, because when you spawn the hatch at the shack, 7/10 time, in maps like Cold wind or Macmillan or azarov, the shack is right next to the gate. Even plagues map or huntress
