Why aren't my games as miserable as everyone else's?
I always see people talking about how it's impossible to get kills, how they're ALWAYS being camped and tunneled, how their teammates are bad, how they always face hit squads, etc.
Why are my games so lax and chill compared to what I'm reading day in and day out?

I don't really know what you are trying to achieve with this post...
People tend to vent on the forums so naturally it will always been more negative here. I'm sure those people also have chill games every now and then, just as I'm sure you have frustrating games too.

Honestly, I imagine it's partially bias. Kind of like customer service jobs, you don't remember the 99 customers who were fine but it is burned into your brain that you never want to do a service job again because of that one time you dealt with MEGA KAREN and it ruined your damn week.
Most customers are not Mega Karen but they're the ones you remember. I imagine most games are not against face camping killers and Seal Team Bully Squad Six but those are the games that imprint on your mind and ruin your week.

Probably just an overload of THC, tbh, that makes every game super chill.
There are definitely games where I have to play sweaty or whatever, but that doesn't mean it was a bad or unfun game.
I agree with your points about memory and confirmation bias, though - easy to filter out the good in favor of the bad.

I'd duo with you or anyone that needs a hand.
I'm probably not as good as most people on here, tbh, but I do cling to gens/win chases/bounce when I feel like it's the best move in Solo.
I appreciate all the players I play with/against, though, as they literally make the game.

It doesn't help too that many only have so much time to play. Like my example was 1 customer out of 100 but if you're a full time student or worker or whatever real life things suck away your time, you might only get a few games in.
If one of your three games you get to play because you only have 45 minutes of free time is ruined by someone face camping you or dealing with a bully squad, that's a lot of your little free time being burned being miserable. Hyperbole or not, many are going to just abandon a game rather than play a game where 1/3 of their time is ruined.

No matter what I do, Survivors just will not be toxic in post-game chat. Weird.

I can see the overlap between frequency and bad experiences, for sure. I usually play like an hour or so after work and if it sucks, it sucks, but I still enjoy most of my experiences.
As a kid, a game with all these movie monsters/etc was a dream game...
Did you nod at them AND hit them on the hook. That makes you EXTRA mean!

Just yesterday with someone from these same forums i was left to die on first hook because they gave up because it was a proxy camping blight.
I dont appreciate people who give up just bc its a killer they dont like, i'd rather them unistall and let everyone else play the game like normal.

Sadly there isn't much you can do for me... Facing sweaty tryharders when you are trying to play chill is just a random casuality (mind you that the few times that I play I'll play killer because survivor became too much boring for me... And it will become more boring once they'll increase the time to do generators instead of giving a proper secondary object to do... I wish they could add some "find the brand new part item" mechanic in order to progress with the generators)

I play killer with zero gen regression/solo queue survivor with zero second chance perks and have fun every single game. DBD doesn't tilt me, because I don't care how many kills I get or if I die or escape. Losing gens fast/being teabagged/clicked at/hit on hook/camped/tunneled/slugged to death/etc doesn't bother me at all, which is why I don't care to use regression or second chance perks. I use other random perks I find more fun instead.

Also not that good but my experience is not even close to what people describe here. I am not tunneled and camped every single game like people claim and my teammates are not more useless than me.
When I play killer it is not 4 minute 0k every game either. And I play m1s a lot, although I let some people go often so that might impact my mmr but still.
I am aware that this game is imbalanced for both sides and anything can happen but the reality is totally different for me than what people describe. I also don't really care much whatever other players do. I comment on it but I am not prone to being impulsive and throwing tantrums about players in the game. I even laugh it off sometimes if I am killed really fast or barely got a hook as killer.
I think people are driven by negative emotions and it shows during/after anything "competitive". That is why I don't believe them. They will exxagerate and they also have terrible mindset. Being chill is way better, win or lose who cares.
I also played surv with @TheShapesMixtape two times, no comms. If someone think I am lying or lucky how come that dude has the similar experience at least as surv?
You are not dying or being camped/tunneled every damn game and you are not getting 0k either. But whatever go on. I already understand what they are all doing.

I have thousands of hours in this game and I do care, so there's that. When someone does care, reality exists. Being stuck in low MMR with noobs isnt fun.

Having people suiciding on first hook at 5 gens because its a blight making it a free 4k for the killer doesnt mean I am bad, but you keep telling yourself that. I'm not a potato, I'm stuck in solo q, something you should play more.

Honestly I 100% agree with people crying about solo Q, maybe I'm better at killer than survivor, maybe I'm not as good as I think Idk but solo q is painful I'm not having a good time at all.
I just wish I could enjoy both sides and with the killer buffs soon I feel like kindred basekit is not too much to ask for us solo players, I mean I only play solo and I probably escape 3/10 games on average, and because of it I'm not even enjoying when I stomp bad teams as killer because I know how it feels, it doesn't feel like a balanced game every match is a mismatch

I don't think it is neccessarily low mmr and even if it was it is nothing to be ashamed about in this game.
What I think is that people are too hard on everyone except themselves and always look for excuses. They also take dbd seriously which is also a mistake.
I actually had to ditch a rl friend when it comes to games because he was always raging and lacked any self reflection to overcome something. It just brings my mood down for zero reason.

It was still a fun/funny game, though.

Yeah, which clearly happens every game and results in it holding back how good you are from no longer being matched with these obviously worse players. If you knew how to read, you’d realize I already said I play solo queue in my original post lmao. It’s what I play around half the time. Project harder.
I agree. There is nothing wrong with not being good at the game. There is something wrong when they insult others for not being good at the game. Especially when they’re not any better.

I played solo on and off since 2018 and I don't see it. My experience is also better since sbmm.

MMR does just fine on average. It only becomes a problem when you get to players who are ultra high MMR, because there’s not enough other players of their level also on. For the average player, it is generally consistent. As in, yes, there are exceptions occasionally (if someone dodges the lobby, it’ll try and find a replacement quick regardless of MMR, etc). But for the most part, it’s fine.
The first step to self-improvement is acknowledging yourself. You’ll get there some day, I believe in you. :)

MMR is not doing fine, at least from my exp.
I faced with exp survivors when i tried Twins challanges (i did not play them before). Some of them were bully SWF teams. But i have baby teams sometimes on my Nurse & Nemesis games, which they should never face with me.
MMR is just so bad in general. For solo-q, it is worse.
But i doubt they will fix it.

Given how matchmaking works and the fact, not anecdote, that you're never going to be the strongest link on your team 100% of the time, can't say I'd be interested either.
Probably would have been interested/more sympathetic previously, but your attitude and statements really paint enough of a picture for me.
See, if you posted gameplay, unless you were really good, every game, based on your postings, people would say you are to blame.
If I posted a video and went down in 4 seconds, had a laugh, and died, people would say - Yeah, lines up with them not caring/being a goof. Same if I was destroyed by a weak team.
I'm not my own worst enemy on the forums, though.

I had players with 20 hours on my matches yesterday. I had an elodie give up at 5 gens when she saw it was a blight. I had another person from here do the same thing because again, blight.
I streamed all of this yesterday, so people who watched my stream know what's up. It's pretty bad.

I only can say that I have killer games chill and lax. Meet different teams, hard, new, bully, but can't say some games are frustrating (maybe only when I meet new survivors that are too easy to slaughter, usually let go one or two).
Survivor is more.... frustrating. If you play like "I'll go annoy killer with fun build" expecting to die in first 5 minutes, it's chill ok. But when you try to win for some reason (achievement, challenge, etc), you understand how little mistakes survivor can made and how reliable he is on teammates.
I tried to get my final Rank 1 achievement before survivors are buried, and I finally did it AFTER 6 MONTHS 😖
And I gathered all statistics about last 150 matches, wanted to do post about it later. If interested, little spoiler: in fact campers and tunnelers are not more than 1/3.
I can tell you fresh experience: I never felt so much stress and frustration in any game by a landslide.

Have you tried playing during different hours? Are killers you are getting also that inexperienced?
I am asking because I usually avoid playing surv during early evenings/before midnight eu.

I believe the implication is that everyone is bad, but it is impossible for a good player to win/raise mmr if matched with these players.

The killers I'm facing are not potatoes, though I have been seeing more trappers and onis recently, but it's still mostly, huntress, nurses and blights.
I play during the day and at night, at night it gets way worse when it comes to team mates.
The only times I was getting good teams was when I was playing crossplay off and even that I cant anymore because queue times are long there now.
