Camera Lock on Hag Traps
Why does this even exist? It makes it so confusing to move around and no one likes it. Just because you supposedly get jumpscared shouldn't mean your camera should be frozen on the trap. If you think this is okay then feel free to tell me why. Give me one good reason.

So as a survivor main you should be able to just run over the traps with no downsides as soon as she places them?

It's a part of her power

The mechanical benefit of the camera lock is it adds a bit of confusion to the survivor’s movement to help make the trap more effective. One of my favorite Hag streamer mains, Mishi, has an old long guide on intentionally placing traps in such a way that the survivor’s are briefly steered away from vaults and pallets and other desired paths to give the Hag a little extra time to hit them before they can get back to safety. Without the camera lock the survivors can just totally ignore the traps they set off if they’re confident the Hag isn’t going to teleport to them.

The downside is you get probably hit. Its just ridiculous to get locked in a direction you dont want to run. It just makes zero sense.

It's her power, if you want to avoid it, don't run into her traps. There are ways to go about her traps which I quite frankly am not willing to share.
This is like asking why the Clown's bottles make you move slower

I'm not only thinking it's ok, I know it's ok and I can give you even two reasons:
- Disorient surivor in chase
- Swerve survivor's pathing so he won't be able to do fast vault or delayed before pallet

I play on both sides, man. Just trying to figure it out considering I was dealing with a hag that placed every trap possible at a hooked survivor and stayed right there. Not even with my two other teammates and I could get them out. Only reason why we even all got out was because she felt bad about doing it and let us leave. EVEN SHE THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD!

Because it helps Hag that is a weak/mediocre killer.

I get what you mean, but its a part of her power, its even in her descriptions. Also, any person that knows how to play hag will not place more than 1 trap at hooks and camp there. It's not a good strategy and as survivor there are ways to go around her traps and camera flicks.
Overall, hag is a weak killer compared to other killers and especially the newest killer, who has in my opinion too many powers and not many counters or setbacks to his power, unlike hag.
Its not that its impossible to play her and be successful, but at this point she needs a bit of a buff, specifically to her add-ons which are more than meh, again compared to other killers.
The camera flick is in no way OP and without it, she'd be even weaker.

WOAH THERE, SONNY! Never said it was op. I was asking a legitimate question on why it existed and you delivered. I just hope that if they do buff hag, there will be a way to make camping less viable should she become viable.

That's less an issue with the camera swing and more no minimum trap placement to a hooked survivor, which is an outdated part of her power.

I despise and loathe Hag with every fibre of my being, but I got to say the camera lock is probably the most interesting thing about her. She's one of the few actually terrifying killers in the game because I get startled super easy. And the camera moving is a unique and interesting way to mess with survivors imo. It's more engaging than, say, Frenzy Deep Wounds.

You can still loop a legion in frenzy. You just have to believe.

I agree that this is annoying as #########. I also believe shouldn't exist in this game and hope you agree with me lol

Imagine thinking hag is a "mediocre" killer lmao.
I Guess nurse and blight are F tier killer, if hag is "mediocre"

Hag is mediocre and overrated they rank her in the weakest tier in tournaments for a reason. Good teams who knows how to counter her just bully Hag into a slow killer with no power. Nurse and Blight are so much better you can't compare them. But sure solos will struggle a lot against Hag because they don't have a trap destroyer who knows to follow her, to destroy traps at the very edge where it goes of so you can reach a loop without getting hit. Now you face a slow killer you can gen rush to death. Hag is outdated and needs a buff and a rework.
More or less all solos just go to closest gen at the start of the game while Hag set up her net = game over. SWFs know to have at least one person running towards the killer at the start.

Think of it as the Clown's gas, it's main purpose is to close the distance, but it has the additional function to dishorient the survivor

I wish they would do the camera lock to Sadako's projections.

Impossible because most of the TVs seem to spawn on the opposite side of a wall facing directly away from the gens.

I think making the camera move and forcing you to run in a random direction is an underused mechanic that should be expanded to more killers and items (since it's totally fair)
Flashlight hits the killer's back? He turns around to face the survivor.
Disarm one of the traps? He turns and faces it automatically.
I think this could open up a whole new avenue for balancing! We should make that something that happens in every match, on both sides, and see how long it takes you guys to start complaining about it
After all, we wouldn't a killer to be able to just ignore a flashlight in the back with NO DOWNSIDES, right?

Alright guys, take it easy. No need to make this into an us vs them thing. I was legitimately curious about why it existed and I now know. Nothing else needs to be said that could make people mad or something.
