Clarification Q about Catch-Up Prestige

"Finally, we’ve made a tweak to our catch-up mechanic, which awards you bonus prestige levels based on your progress prior to this overhaul going live. This is based on the number of perk tiers you’ve unlocked on a character as well as their prestige.

In the PTB, we awarded one bonus prestige level for each prestige your characters had prior to the PTB. For the full Mid-Chapter release, we have increased this to 2 bonus prestige levels. This means if your character was prestige 3 before the update, they are guaranteed to be prestige 9 after the update, granting all the new rewards immediately. The catch-up mechanic will be limited to prestige 9, however, even if the calculated bonus would exceed this."

So now characters can only achieve P9 from catch-up, not P12 as in the PTB? Or is this applying only to catch-up granted by current prestige?

This is confusing me as well. Does this mean if you had P3 with max perks before the update you'll only be P9 after the update? If that's how it works, this change is actually worse than before and doesn't make sense for anyone that put in more time and effort

I also had this question so appreciate you making this thread.

I quite enjoyed that some of my characters were P12/P11, so it would be a shame if they've limited it to P9.

Yes, they've capped post-patch prestige without spending anything additionally to P9, and anything P3 currently will gain that.

Just another way to minimise how much they 'reduce' grind, by setting players back another 3 prestiges from what they were told they were getting.
