Immersive survivors prolonging the game

I just had a killer match were the last 2 survivors spent 20+ min hiding and ignoring gens and objectives. This is a waste of everybody's time and is an annoying tactic. I think an adjustment to the crow noise notification that is given to an AFK survivor is needed to deal with these kind of players. This does not happen very often, in fact rare for my case but it shouldn't happen at all and there is an easy fix to this. If a survivor has not been actively in a case, in terror radius for long period of time, or done 10+% of gen in 5+ min then a crow noise notification will reveal their location. Make sure for 10+% gen progression that simply tapping the gen does not mean that a survivor is actively working on it. Simple fix to a problem that is not common but annoying. I forgot to report them bc I wanted to get on with the next match.

Not sure about it being bannable. You'd have to be able to prove they intentionally tried to avoid engaging in the game. If they were tapping hens, hitting boxes or totems, they are not holding the game hostage.

Not that I condone it, but immersed playstyle is a legit style, just like camping and tunneling.

I actually liked immersed matches if I'm a stealth killer. Like if we're on equal footing, it's a really fun cat and mouse game

I'm talking about specifically not attempting to do gens at all when there's no Hexes/anything else significant to do. That is confirmed potentially bannable, depending on circumstances.

I want this as a survivor. I'm tired of having one or two teammates who go immersed and refuse to participate. If I try to keep doing gens, I die. There's no other way that turns out because even if I run the killer around for ten minutes, no gens will get done. These days I usually go find the hiding survivor and run around leaving a lot of scratch marks hoping the killer will notice and kill both of us. If there are two survivors who go immersed, I just give myself up to the killer. Might as well get it over with. I kinda feel bad for the killer, because they're going to be stuck in that match for god knows how long with the two remaining survivors, but it's against the rules for me to help the killer find them. If the killer were paying attention, they'd refuse to kill me and let me do gens just so the match can end.

The devs need to also make escaping reward much, much, much less. One of the reasons survivors go immersed is because escaping rewards such a huge lump of Bloodpoints, to them it's worth more to waste time stealthing around for a chance at the hatch than to actually participate. MMR being based specifically on escapes doesn't help, either.

There's immersion and then there's that. Could be a spiteful duo or they could be waiting out the other survivor for a hatch chance, either way I agree that it's something the devs should look into.

Honestly, they should just add hard time limit for the game, it won't make anything worse because realistically it won't happen.

I'd rather a game like this than 90% of games where survs stand inside the gate for no reason other than just to waste time.

End game collapse should start at 18 minutes into the match, progresses at a slowed rate as long as a generator is being actively repaired.

Edit: Actually, if survivors don't attempt to repair a generator for 5 minutes it should start. Simply tapping a generator isn't enough to interrupt, and you have to actually put some progress on the generator before the 5 minutes resets.

i remember once dying first and then spectating the most hilarious immerse wars ever.

Rest of the survivors were hiding like in proximity of each other, one in bushes, one in locker, one behind rocks, not more than 5-6m from each other. They were just walking in circles, entering/leaving lockers to not get crows.

I was so curious to see who would die first, but it took the killer over 20 min to find one of them. Once the 2nd one died, the last 2 continued to be immersed for another eternity, but the locker dude forgot to do his anti-crow activity and got crows and got found. After closing hatch, last dude tried to bribe the killer, after they looked for them for like an hour total xDD I would be pissed if the killer let him go

I think after 10 minutes of no gens being done, all survivors should have permanent crows on their heads. 8 minutes, you get 1 crow. 9 minutes you get crow 2, and 10 minutes you get the third crow. Only way to remove is to finish a gen.

I know that sounds harsh, but 10 minutes is a stalemate, and it's too easy for survs to hide on bigger maps.

I've had many matches like this. Where the team seem competent and actually want to play, only to kill two of them and then it's Hide and Seek: DBD edition.

I can't stand having to search the entire map while two people hide, waiting for the other to die.

There's something quite pathetic about someone who hides and waits for the other to die to then try and bribe me to get out. Why would I let you escape when you forced me to walk the length of the map over and over to find you, while expecting someone else to die so you can get out? It boggles the mind.

I really do wish the afk crows worked better. Going in and out of lockers shouldn't reset the afk timer. Cleanse totems, grab chests, whatever gives me some chance of interaction. Not just go in and out of lockers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not high MMR player. I'm probably above average at best so who knows what kind of matches I get, but it does get old real quick.
