Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Is there a way to limit your region on steam for dbd?

I am in the north of the US and I keep getting put with killers in the latam area. Argentina, brazil, etc... Most of them are super sweaty but that's w/e, the issue is they lag like hell and teleport through pallets. Twice now i've had a situation where I vaulted a window and hopped into a close locker for a headon, only for the killer to swing at the window a full second after i was in the locker and me take damage and fall out. The only time hits like this happen is if the killer has a steam profile with a latam country listed as their location. Leaving crossplay off seems to fix these issues, however i'd like to be able to play with console and stuff for the faster queue times. Every single one of these killers have been steam anyways.

As far as I know you can’t actively control which server you are being connected to. At least not via Steam configuration or anything.

using a VPN could change your Region, and maybe those killers are doing this to get an unfair advantage?

you can check your connection in the pre lobby though! You can see on the bottom right your ping with a color indication how good it is. If you think you get sometimes connected to another server, you should see a significant worse ping there and can just dodge the lobby!
