Alternate Objective Ideas

After going back through some of the shenanigans that Dead by Daylight has introduced, I figured I wanted to try something new: alternate objectives. I decided to throw out some ideas just to see if these could work. If any of these ideas overlap with another user, I'm sorry. Feel free to comment down below at anytime.

Idea 1: Entity Shrines: For each and every map, there will be a Shrine dedicated to each of the four categories (Altruism, Boldness, Objectives and Survival). After approaching a Shrine and praying to it for 10 seconds, the Survivor gets a 50% bonus to any Bloodpoints they receive in that category for 60 seconds. After praying to the Shrine, that Shrine cannot be reactivated for the rest of the match and only one Survivor can use the Shrine per match.

(This does two things: gives Survivors an alternate objective with a pretty good reward at the end and provides a solid boost in Bloodpoints to those very Survivors. I tries to balance it in a way that gives everyone an opportunity. As a side bonus, it might provide some lore to the Entity as well.)

Idea 2: Dead Memories: Since each area has some connection to the Killers (Like the Trapper with Macmillan Estate and the Doctor with the Memorial Institute) there should be certain "events" within each area that you can interact with and gain certain bonuses. There will be 4 "memories" you can interact with and after interacting with each memory for a certain amount of time, you gain 500 Bloodpoints and reveal a random Perk that the Killer is using. If there are no other Perks to reveal, you will instead gain an additional 500 Bloodpoints. Once analyzed, the Memory cannot be interacted with for the rest of the match.

(For example, the Doctor's lore is that he was experimenting with brain control. My idea is this: when you go to the Memorial Institute, you can find items that relate to the Doctor's lore, like maybe an electrocuted body or maybe prototype head pieces. This also gives each Killer more agency and depth. These "memories" only relate to the map you're playing, not the Killer you're facing.)

Note: The Killer can see the Auras of both Shrines and Memories. For Shrines, a faint glow will Shrine. For Memories, static will be faintly heard when a Memory is nearby.

The creativity is amazing, here I was saying repair the power cord from the Gen to the door or find gas for the Gen lol

Anyway, the Shrine is cool because it's kind of like the sack from the Hallowed Blight event except there is 4 of them, but I think the time to pray should be longer, perhaps 12 seconds which is the healing time with Botany 3. Having some kind of noise going on while praying should be there too, kind of like the sacks it's a greed thing and they are randomly placed so not every Shrine could be found in the beginning and maybe no one looked for them, I think it's awesome, especially if it's small like an altar on a table or kind of like the totems.

I really like the Memories as well but it could be extremely dangerous with a SWF group, having one person know of one perk and another Survivor knowing of an entirely different one is fine but if it's SWF then everyone knows. If you have NOED or Bloodwarden well you're screwed every single match.

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, you might have a point with the praying time for Shrines. I didn't want it to be too long as for it to be not worth it, but long enough to slow down the game a little bit. It was actually the Hallowed Blight Event that inspired me to come up with these two ideas.

As for the Memories,, I do agree with the SWF problem, but TBH, SWF matches have a tendency to lean that way. The main selling point for the Memories was to give the Lore a little more spotlight and provide a different type of reward aside from Bloodpoints. Even with the Totems, some players will often only rush to totems if there's a Hex in play. Yeah, you do have the outliers, but it's just something i've noticed.

Just bringing in the Memories thing would be cool, find all the Memories and get some reward or not, just finding them for your own personal enjoyment because they tell a story and you want the whole story, maybe there's an achievement for it? That slows the game down a teensy bit.
