This update finally drove me to uninstall DBD

I'm not sure what the community's personal experience with the update has been, but mine has been awful.

As someone who enjoys running off-meta builds I was excited to experiment with the new survivor perks that had been buffed with this update. Unfortunately I didn't really get the chance to use them in more than half my games because I kept getting Nurses who (no exaggeration) had all of us slugged on the floor at four gens. It was as though the game hadn't changed at all and confirmed my fears that Nurses would become more prevalent since this update only makes her even stronger than before.

The base kit BT is laughable and did nothing in the games where a normal BT would have saved a survivor from getting tunnelled. It is very easy to wait out a five second BT. Since DS for some reason is now laughable as well (with a 3 second stun you may as well be stabbing them with a crayon) tunnelling was much more prevalent in the matches where we weren't all immediately slugged. I did not see OtR often if at all so I can't comment on that perk rework.

Gens take 90 seconds to repair now and killer gen regression has been buffed in a few areas. Although I find the gen speed decrease a fairly monotonous way to make the games last longer (who wants to hold a button for even longer than before?), it is understandable considering the amount of games I had pre-update where gens would fly in a single chase. No killer should experience that. Despite these changes, the killers I had took advantage of longer gens to instead camp out survivors because they knew now they were more likely to get away with it. Or they hard tunnelled at the start of the game even though in theory they should no longer need to to perform well at high MMR due to the buffs they recieved.

What I'm trying to get at is that I feel as though the update has changed nothing at all for the better from the survivor perspective. I'm sure killers are having a blast with these changes, I would be too, but ultimately for me I can't help but feel let down. I went onto the game yesterday hyped and quit it after a couple hours absolutely miserable. It is a shame. And I feel as though these changes were not made with solo queue players in mind. Playing solo queue is already a detriment as it is hard to coordinate and mistakes can be very hard to come back from. With these changes a single mistake could very possibly end the match for everyone. I understand that killers are supposed to be strong and feared but the best matches are the ones where it is not clear which side will emerge the victor. I don't want to play matches where effectively the game is over for us in the first couple of minutes because we have little chance of coming back from a mistake due to increased gen times etc.

All these points all in all have made me finally uninstall the game. Perhaps I am being cynical or got incredibly unlucky games but this update for me feels like it has done nothing to improve the game. In fact it has made it worse. Feel free to disagree with me, I know some people are loving the update and I'm happy they are. I just wish I could enjoy it too.

Maybe I'll be back for the next chapter. Who knows.

Except that wasn't happening before the update for a lot of killers, and now those killer players are buffed. I'm having survivors flat out give up in my killer games since the update. This update buffed a small percentage of players who didn't need buffs to begin, and it's going to be frustrating going against them.

I definitely can sympathize with you. For the longest time, killer has just been exhausting for me. Back to back maps that are awful from a gameplay point of view ( even with the buffs, I still get semi tilted over garden of joy), DH every game. Medkits being buffed in general, COH, that brief time with boil over. The best thing I did was doing what you're doing now. Take a break and play something else. You dont owe it to anyone to continue playing.

That being said, I am finding killer fun again. more now that I can play pig with soley jolt and feeling fine about it. Win or lose. But there are some glaring problem. Strange enough that they are issues that have always come up so you'd think they'd think about it. Perk stacking.

I expect to see a permanent survivor que bonus, killers are having a lot of fun outside of paying against SWFs. Solo survivors are feeling the burn of not only nerfing what allows them to survive on their own, but a killer wide buff.

So enjoy playing killer and try to find some good players to play with.

Or and hear me out here, survivors havent figured out what works best yet and instead of staying for a while and seeing how the meta settles you decided to book it.

Which is understandable but imo you just expected to just cruise along doing as well as you have been doing in a completely new survivor meta and when that, obviously, didnt happen you gave up.

Am i being optimistic in thinking the survivors experience will get better as people figure out what works best and what to abuse? Probably. But i think thats whats going to happen in 1 week max.

To be honest with you I was already having a rough time with the game in general. I was banking on this update drawing me back in and making the game enjoyable again. I agree it is a bit harsh to quit in so little time after the update drops but I just can't see myself enjoying the game right now. Some more changes need to be made.

Saying "its a skill issue" completely ignores the point I'm making, which is that matches in general are longer. Longer matches mean more time to engage in the fun aspects of the game. It being a skill issue is completely irrelevant.

I've mostly been playing survivor since the update released and the game has been a blast. I've had a couple sour matches but it's been great overall. And you say it's not a design issue, but the devs clearly disagree with you. It really sounds like you're the one coping here, bud.

The changes were not primarily to survivor. They were specifically made to boost falling kill rates. It's understandable it feels painful as a survivor.

That said every single meta gen regression perk was heavily nuked/nerfed into questionable value. Pop taking a handful of seconds off of gens 0-50% is massive And ruin is now a detremint to run. Additionally dms + or is gone. If you liked bt/ds I heavily recommend you give otr a shot.

Thats completely fair. I burn out of games every so often as well. Hope you find a new game or hobby you enjoy. I can recommend Chivalry II, very noob friendly and matches are generally just 5 minute of dumb fun. Reminds me of tf2 medieval mode.

Didnt mention a single perk, i said meta got completely reshuffled. This is imo akin to everybody starting over new to the game with no idea how to play and game seeming completely killer sided. We dont know what works and what doesnt, yes it seems extremely killer sided right now. I'm just saying let the meta settle and lets see if it actually is first.

No. People shouldn't make posts about uninstalling if they want to be coddled. Ignoring the part where they claim to "love to run off meta perks", all they did was complain about the QoL changes. And again, lets remember that these changes haven't even been live for a day yet. Solo queue is rough? No ######### Sherlock.

They even laid out their point simply: "What I'm trying to get at is that I feel as though the update has changed nothing at all for the better from the survivor perspective." Nothing has been changed for the better? How about no longer being trapped in a boring second chance meta and being rewarded for just holding W for an entire chase? Now good players get rewarded for actually being able to loop and use tiles correctly. Of course bad survivors are going to complain that nothing changed for the better.

Just take a break. Don’t uninstall, especially if you plan to come back. Taking a break is necessary sometimes, I took some because of the amount of toxicity I received for playing a tunneling / proxycamp nurse with red moris. After a while, I started to take screenshots and make fun of it.

So as I said, take a break and come back fresh without taking the game too seriously.

I thought the 1 minute of old iron will would be pretty impactful too but i can see how that doesnt come into play if killer is right on top of you. And i can swear it had an effect that disrupted scratch marks but i must have been thinking of a different perk i think, wiki says it doesnt have that.

You need to realize it wasn't just one perk that let to survivor handholding.

As innocent as it might seem Spine Chill was in part to blame. So were perks like Iron Will, DH, DS and many of the "Crutch perks" that got obliterated.

You might be thinking of Lucky Break. OTR does have grunts of pain silences, but doesn't make much difference if the Killer is right on your arse.

Well Solo Q escape rates were NOT high. BHVR took the Kill/escape rates from the survivor pool that included SWF on comms.

A lot of these "crutch perks" (that Killers have too btw!), were designed with the concept that survivors to did not have access to voice communication and coordination. That's why such changes harm Solo Q so much while SWF will still be pretty difficult for Killers.

The variety is nice; too bad that it ends with The Killer. It's the same killers and slow-down perks.

you are not stable on 4 perks, you can switch (of course it depends on the killer).

This update really howed just hope overpowered Nurse is compared to every other killer, she is just disgusting and the dc penalty should be removed againts Nurse.

I think she should straight up be disabled until she gets properly nerfed.

Some popular gen regression perks were nerfed while others...looking at you overcharge and baskit kick regression were buffed. Gen PROGRESSION has also been nerfed except in the case of overzealous.

Narrator: the Survivor was crying about Nurse, but never drop a tear for SWF on Voice Comms. That was fine, or that she thought.

You need to actually consistently play one side to consider it a side. One match a month as Ash rank and the lowest MMR in history, possibly with friends too, doesn't accurately represent the consistebt solo Q experience.
