Kindred base kit

Alright will keep it short. As a main killer I think kindred should be base kit. If BHVR don't have voice chat at least kindred should be base kit. 1 surv is hooked and now you have 3 survivor that have 0 idea if someone is going for the unhook or if everyone is sitting on gens waiting for someone else to go.

Thanks :)

I think Kindred should be basekit, but it only works if the survivor is looking at the killer and they're not Undetectable or Oblivious. That way you can maintain the playstyle if you really want to, but it puts survivors on a closer footing to SWFs.

I also think killer should get a loud noise notification on the generator with the most progress upon hooking a survivor, as well as a speed boost to help them get to said generator (but make it go away if the killer gets into chase). Those two would also help with the camping problem by making the killer waste less time finding another survivor to chase.

Giving the killer that much info + a speed boost is not a good idea. That would make killer way easier to play. That said camping gotta get solved because rly I don't understand why so many players play like that.

Yeah I agree Kindred should be based kit, cause again it would help a lot solo survivor players especially so that they can keep track on where their other teammates are while one teammate is on the hook.

I have not seen even ONE survivor run Kindred. It is super helpful to everyone not on comms, so either I am only playing against SWF, or the Solo Q players are extremely bad at running useful (but not broken) perks.

Why should it be base-kit, if people don't even run it in the first place?

Just because you've never seen a survivor run Kindred doesn't mean no one runs it. I ALWAYS run Kindred. ALWAYS. So needless to say, I would be very much in favor of having it as a base kit. It's kind of hard to decide on a build, having to restrict it to three perks, because my fourth perk always has to be Kindred.

Well, would you rather the killer know where to go and have better traversal times, or do you wanna get camped on hook? Pick your poison there.

Killers have perks to help track down survivors, and even without perks, they've got scratch marks and crows that take off when survivors go by. There's no reason why Killers can't hunt down other survivors.

For a simple reason... It just a perk that you use IF you go on hook. Also is kinda "lame". Just because people don't run it does not mean it's worthless. People that use is because they are tired of people not knowing what to do because again they don't have any idea of where everyone is. Kindred is a perk that is like "Ok im tired of my solo mates not knowing what's going on so Imma waste my perk slot for it". Perks should have a play style in mind and not be used to fix coms issues that the game do not solve

I half agree. I think solo queue survivors should get kindred basekit

Except, it's an information perk. That's not a wasted slot. That's game info.

The idea that you're wasting a slot on Kindred is exactly the problem with the solo survivor mindset. The idea that you should get 4 slots to help you go through gens, heal up, stay safe, or escape chases is the SWF meta BECAUSE they get Kindred (and a dozen other info perks) for free by using comms.

It's why Solo will NEVER be even with SWF. They just straight-up get more perks than their non-grouped counterparts.

Kindred is a GOOD perk. People SHOULD use it. Killers don't WANT to have to use Corrupt Intervention, but the game randomly splits survivors up four ways and puts each of them right on a generator at the start. That sucks, but there's a perk specifically to help mitigate it. Solo don't get the tons of free info SWF gets, but there are perks for that.

It's not that Kindred should be basekit, it's that SOMETHING should be done about SWF Comms other than the devs sticking their heads in the sand and pretending it isn't players using third-party software to gain an unfair advantage that the rest of the player base doesn't get.

But, we all know how that turns out.

Well yes if they spend some of their limited perk slots to do that, sure. But base kit, killers get no information on where survivors are. Survivors who aren't in chase either walk to avoid making the marks or they know the angle the person was hooked at and only sprint behind buildings.... or it's an indoor map like RPD where scratch marks barely do anything. Killers absolutely require information in order to play, so if giving survivors more info is in the works so to does killer they're 100% of their own team after all they can't SWF for a bunch of free information.
