Yep, the update backfired sorry.
All of the changes, in theory, are good, but they just increased the camping/tunneling problem.
As a killer the only thing you have to do to win is end the first chase quick enough that you can camp/tunnel the person you got and the rest of the team does not have enough time to finish the gens anymore nor can the tunneled person defend themselves with DS, and OTH is just not good enough as old ds was. I am not saying that DS also means automatic free escape but at least now killers know no one even runs it anymore
In most of my games, people are dead straight of the first hook, my actual first post-patch update game was a camping bubba.
I did manage to escape some matches but overall it's just constant camping and tunneling every single match, at 5/ 4 gens killers are literally just gluing themselves to that first hook.
I have been using sb/lithe to try some creative plays but after I realized that every match I am dead after first down I just went comp style pre-dropping everything and hoping people are on gens so when I am eventually hooked they have time to do the gens as the killers won't leave the hook either way, getting creative in chases and trying mind games would be fun if I knew I would get to play the game after getting outplayed once (I did have one amazing chase against the dredge where I 99ed sb and when he posted his anti loop thingy I managed to leave the loop and go somewhere else, and that's probably one good interactive chase I had since the patch).
On top of that I am getting potato teammates, and none of my friends play DbD anymore, so solo queue hell is the only thing I have.
I will probably take a break from survivor, but I honestly would feel bad to play my main Nurse with recent aura reading buffs to lethal (which is the build I use) since if I get a couple of 4ks in a row I just get bored. I guess I will go play some other killers I usually never play and hopefully won't get stomped

Then don't play her with a strong build.
If you are confident and don't mind to lose regularly, play her without anything at all. (Although Franklin feels nice to silence the macro-clickers)

they nerfed most reasons to leave the hook, not everone owns sadako so either you use gen blockers or you just dont have defense anymore, and statistically speaking instantly tunneling 1 has always been the strategy that gets hurt least by a coordinated team. Tunneling and Camping weren't fixed by any pf the changes because its already the bare minimum strategy left, there are too many killers who feel they have zero choice unless they want to risk straight up throwing the game.

When I play with kindred, all I see are two survivirs crouched around while a killer camps. MEANWHILE, I'm frantically trying to get gens done.

That was my first idea and I did a few matches with it.
But Franklin exposes their greed ... do I need to go on? ;)

I can finally play survivor and have a horror experience. Meanwhile I can play killer without having a nervous breakdown.

I guess, you'd be surprised though, I love survivors that just sit there for like 5 seconds waiting for the confirmation that I've been blinded to appear, and then if they try to lose me, I get 10 free seconds of aura reading, it's actually alot stronger than most people think

Yep, everybody with more than 200 hours knew this would happen. Camping is already strong, increasing gen times without increasing hook times will just make is stronger and easier. Played several games where the killer face camped at 5 gens, one was a Myers, one was a Bubba. Both had Deadlock, No Way Out, and guess who ended up winning. But thank god killer mains can have their ego feed even though their side is basically a glorified hold w.

I think your mixing up survivors and killers on the hold W thing there. And I've gotten out of plenty of matches as a survivor since the patch. I've lost some too, but you know what, I usually pip, and I move on to another game. Or are do Survivors just want a free 4E?

Only one side is actively rewarded by the game for holding w with no thought for 15 seconds.

The changes aren't even good in theory. And that's the biggest issue: just by reading the patch notes everybody with some kind of gamesense would have understood the consequences for the gameplay. So HOW did bhvr could have ever thought of releasing this even for a ptb? Why don't they ask their veteran foggies to take a look at it? None if them would have approved of this midchapter.

Killers are the ones who actually want (and got) a guaranteed 4k every match.
This game is like The Quarry now. Enjoy your cutscenes I guess.

I'm playful. The original idea was to have no perks at all too. Since it was about Nurse, it was both with self-improvement in mind and giving a chance to badly matched opponents.
Giving a chance feels even more relevant now. Earlier I've been matched as Nurse on Mother's Dwelling (one of the worst maps without range, because of its size and LOS breakers) and I've still managed to get them all. Against an experienced team, I would normally cry blood on that map, even with a decent build.

Okay for some reason ever since I posted this thread I actually have not been getting campers/tunnelers at all lmao
They have been replaced with 3 Legions in a row with thana so I am not sure what's worse
