Keys Collecting Dust

Has there been any word of keys? Does BHVR plan on doing anything at all with them-- because right now they are just purely collecting dust.. the only time you see them is when a survivor gets unlucky and pulls them out of a chest.

Pink and purple keys have less value than a brown medkit or toolbox.

I understand the hatch was nerfed/changed whatever... but let's not just leave the item used to interact with them to rot. The key/hatch interaction was just one more added mechanic to the gameplay-- so we need to replace it with something else. Even if keys were removed entirely and replaced with a new item that does something completely different?

Or hide the key in the match somewhere and make the last survivor track it down if they want to try a last ditch effort for the hatch?

EGC is some of the most intense and exciting moments of the match.. and often.. actually VERY often both doors spawn on the same wall.. or the killer can just stand in one spot and look at both and thats a gg.

having a chance to find the key before the entity snaps your neck scavenger hunt would only enhance the game... sure killers wouldnt be able to camp doors as easily.. but honestly is camping really fun? The catch/chase is the best part of dbd.

I don't expect them to revert the hatch change or anything like that--- i'd just like to see these items that clog up my bloodweb actually be useful.
