So the Steam Deck has been out for a while...

So where's the Steam Deck and Linux support? It is not a lot of effort, it is a single checkbox they have to click.

They made a switch port that I'm sure took a lot of effort and no-one asked for. Same with mobile. Making it available on the Steam Deck (and by extension Linux) is both something easy, and something a lot of people want.

They just added the EAC Linux libraries in a recent update, so they're working on it. It apparently doesn't get past the EAC loading screen, but they're dropping hints that they're getting it done by including the files.

I agree. Tired of having to play on Stadia. But thanks to Valve, Linux gaming support will be the standard over the coming years, and nobody is going to have to pay $150 for glorified bloated spyware to play their games again.

BHVR is a company, and before anything gets done, they have to have lots of meetings, and if they're going for the shiny official Steam Deck seal of approval, that's a lot of extra coding and testing that they have to do in the meantime, and then they have to submit it to Valve for review.

I do wish they'd silently enable support in the meantime and just deny knowing anything about it so that they wouldn't have to officially support players who can't get it to work. It's not like people who are gaming on Linux aren't used to having to do their own tech support, anyway.
