Anyone else have players that target or avoid them specifically because of their prestige level now?

I've had a few games where I felt the killer would avoid me entirely, or focus on me really hard, and while I don't mind it too much, I do like to ask in the EGC if there's any reason for it. I was surprised to find several people tell me that it was simply because they saw my prestige level, which is sitting at 15 right now on Dwight, because I'm trying to get him to 100 for the fun of it.

I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing special treatment due to prestige levels? Maybe even the opposite where with a lower level you feel you might be targeted more?

I just want regular games, and I don't want to have to 6 second switch onto my main, so I kind of wish these levels were hidden in the lobby.

    Depends,

If I see someone without any prestige in lobby, I usually check their profile to see playtime.

Cant say for others but when i run into a lobby with higher than normal prestige levels, the normal for me being around 10-12 atm, i perk up in my seat a little bit and try to bring my A game to the game right from the start. Those matches are usually pretty fun.

Dont really care either way if its just 1 guy

Yeah, that happens too, someone DC'd and said they weren't gonna play with me because they saw my hours (why load in??) and I'm like I promise even at 6,400 hours I will still occasionally get hit and run into a wall like the newest players, I am not a god 😭

Honestly even before the update where it shows the prestige levels of ur characters. I had several matches where the killer was basically going after me until I was dead on hook even when they could have focused on other survivors and not just on me till they kill me. Even had killers that leave a chase when they see me just to go after me even if they have already hit the other survivor and are one hit away from downing them.

I used to think it was due to how many killers I had blocked on the game or given unsportmanlike penalities due to them playing the game unfairly towards me instead of others in the match. But since I found out that all blocking someone does is make it so they can't talk to u in game.

I have wondered if that was really the case. But since the update, not as many killers focus on killing me before anyone else in the match which is interesting considering how much killers used to do that to me. I used to see it as me being one of DBD's most hated survivor mains in the game when it came to people who play killer but now I don't know.
