Last post for a while since I get surgery - Dredge buff suggestions after 70+ games on him
I wont be able to reply to any posts in a few hours since I will not be here anymore till I am back sorry about that but ye lets get started. Small info about me as Dredge. I have tossed aside my crown as an Oni main and I am now proudly claiming myself as an Dredge main with a kill rate of 3,2k so far. I have learned a ton of very interesting ways to play dredge, builds and also new mindgames that I havent seen from anyone so far, well of the 5 dredges I have faced so far.
Dredge is mostly fine by itsself and he is one of the most well and best desinged Killers in the game so far.
The only problems he has are the following:
- Locked lockers on certain maps do hurt him ALOT, you dont always have the time to walk around the map and smack the locked lockers, especially you dont wanna give up your chase for that. It feels horrible building your ultimate ability just to be counted by locked lockers, it feels awful and can even cause you easily to loose more pressure for trying to go for chases or slugs.
- While in the power the way you choose your targeted locker is abit wonky. If there are lockers between the path of your targeted actual locker behind that, you will always target the closer locker first, you have to move around till its out of line of side, which you sometimes cant when you are already inside a locker or it just takes too much time and till then the survivor/s you wanna surprise are probably already gone. Also simiular like Nurse back then if you look abit down you can easily accidently target lockers in the basement or other lower areas which sucks, I still have those moments where I visit satan in hell real quick in the middle of an chase.
- The remnant power is on really big loops basicly useless and needs changes. On pallets like the big car pallets on auto heaven, coldwind with those big hey bals aswell. You walk way too slow to even barely catch up, you need around 5-6 loops around that thing while holding your power and building bloodlust to zone them enough to do your 50/50 mindgame. You are better of just chasing as an m1 killer and eat the pallet.
Here are my solutions:
- Choose either of these two: In nightfall you ignore locked lockers, they are basicly disabled and are again enabled after the nightfall / or Reduce the time to get out of a locked locker by 1 sec (Haddies calender addon as baseline) and rework that addon.
- Simply adjust and work on the "choose locker" detection and targeting.
- The further you are away from your remnant the faster you will move again. You are basicly slower the closer you are to your rement. So basicly on smaller loops nothing changes but if you leave the remnant which you basicly have to anyway on those really big loops, you move faster to catch up faster. I am not too sure about the exact speeds but lets say after 6 Meters of the remnant you get 5% faster for each extra 1 meter.

First off, good luck in surgery! I hope everything goes well!
Second though, if you are averaging 3.2 kills a match, why do you think Dredge needs a buff? Though the chosen locker detection/targeting you mention would be much closer to a QoL improvement than a buff. No one should lose a chase because their power can't target where you actually want to go.

He honestly does not need a buff, he has counter play but a TON of map pressure.

Hey, thanks alot for that! I am suggesting these changes cuz these are the only things that needs to be changed, everything else on the Dredge is basicly perfect. I saw myself loosing matches for example I was on the Artist map with idk how many lockers beeing locked, all of them in the early game. You could argue and say hey but there are no locked lockers anymore after that? Well I had basicly no nightfall in the early game and ended up loosing to a 2 hook game cuz I couldnt apply enough pressure on the team since Dredge is sadly not strong enough to deal with a good swf team without nightfall.
Also about the remnant power if you are better of NOT using your power on a loop is kind of a design flaw if you ask me.

These are not buffs to make him in general stronger, these are all buffs to make his weakest and most frustrating parts on him not as painful and annoying. The overall strength of him stays the exact same.

As for Dr. Edge, the only thing I'd like to see is it ignoring locks during nightfall. A cool way of doing that would be by automatically unlocking all lockers on the map once Nightfall starts, so Survivor would have to relock them once Nightfall is over.
I view Nightfall as this ability where it just zooms around the map very quickly and can emerge from anywhere at any time, so restricting its movement as much as locks do (especially with that whole "always entering the locked locker" thing)just feels bad to me.
But other than that I am very happy with Dredgeralds abilities.

Well I am already back home #########, got the surgery at 18 GMT + and woke up around 22. I appereantly spoke for an hour english to the nurses and doctors (I am from germany so it was very unusual for them). But ye everything seemed to work almost way too well, I can sit down and walk but standing up is an issue, which means more gaming time for me? But ye I am suprised it went that well, the doctors including me expected atleast a week stay but my wound healing is really good, the doctors where really suprised. I guess I just have an build in second wind in real life or something.

I had exactly the same idea. The AddOn should definitely be basekit.

Reducing the time to get out of a locked locker during Nightfall would seem like a fair compromise, and make Nightfall worth more.
But in general, I don't think Dredge needs any buffs. He's the one killer I pretty much always win on. Even forcing my way out of a locked locker isn't slowing me down too much, it's like a Nurse getting hit with DS. You just jump right back into chase.

Ye thing is its a very tough thing to deal with that cuz if you increase the general speed then shorter loops are hell for survivors and dredge would become the new artist. Thats why I had this idea with that distance difference.

i like the first 2 changes,
3 promotes camping a lot. you can go to a gen to start a chase but if thats not happening, back to the hook you go. Might be fine since you can just break the remnant but i m not too sure about it
again, i wish we just did PTBs that tested random changes like this because theorizing about them is not the same as just testing them.
Might be totally fine but it might just make him (?) awful to play against

that is true and ofc my changes or suggestions arent probably the most ideal but I am just hoping to help out somehow or give some ideas like that

While I like these ideas, I don't think Nr. 3 would do much, I'd rather his Remnant Teleport and Locker Teleport have different cooldowns

it would help that you can use your power on big loops cuz currently you cant, well you can but have fun running around the same loop 6-7 times.
