If you guys see a highlighted gen would you be more or less likely to go it?

I run blast mine a lot and wonder if I could get double value by also using it to show other people what gen I am on? Or should i save it for when a killer chases me off?

I don't really see a yellow gen and typically think "I need to run towards that generator" or even "I shouldn't" - it depends on context a lot of the time or what's happening in the match. Since it can be yellow due to Blast Mine, Better Together/Situational Awareness or Trail of Torment, it is down to a bunch of factors if I'll approach it or not, i.e. if I know where the killer is, how many gens are left, etc. etc.

You could use it this way, but you risk it expiring before the killer chases you off it and then inevitably kick it before you can reapply it, so I'd argue if you want the max amount of value out of it you should probably wait until you know the killer is approaching the generator.

Depends. I look at how many gens still need to get done and how many hook states/deaths we're at. If nobody has been hooked yet, no, unless it's the closest one to me and I'm not already working on a gen. If we need to hurry and rush getting a gen finished, especially late game, then yes.

I think Situational Awareness is better then Blast Mine to use in that case because when I see a Yellow gen I tend to think of Trail of Torment and don't want to get near it right away in case the killer is near by. With Situational Awareness I have seen people jump on and off a few times in hopes people put two and two together that you are on the gen when they see the gen turn yellow a few times but need to be careful not to blow a skill check.

On a tangent if you want to show other survivors your location you could always run a Map with the Glass Bead add-on which you can use to make a beacon at your location. 🙂
