Today I escaped from every match I played
So... am I a god looper or an awesome survivor? No.
I'm just getting matched with SUPER new killers (and some that are pretty bad even if they got all their bloodied clothes).
Can we get this looked at? Yesterday I was playing super tryhard killers and with bad teammates. Today I had all good teammates but bad killers. It's not fun :(

Unfortunately, this is the end result of buffing one side to be stronger than the other. Killer MMR is going up and survivor MMR is going down, leading to matches where you need to be significantly stronger than the opposing side to win, since the odds are stacked in their favor. The only thing you can do is find a SWF.

My main concern was:
"If I'm getting the baby killers, what killers are the baby survivors getting?" Then we wonder why new people come in here and say the game feels miserable for them.
14 -
Eh, that's not the way MMR works.
Basically this post shows MMR isn't really working properly and nothing else.
14 -
I feel like sometimes people forget that the queue will spit you into a match with anyone, if they have or you have been waiting. The MMR will disregard your rank and your opponent's rank entirely, just so you can get in a match and play.
5 -
my survivor queues are 0 seconds. I press READY and I find a game. You're telling me I'm being matched with new killers because it's only me that's playing? :P
1 -
Huh? it works for both side.
Survivors were the cause of it pre patch, now killers are.
MMR only works when both sides have equal amount of players, and plenty of it, across all skill levels.
2 -
If a killer has been waiting several minutes, they will be matched with whoever is available, even if that survivor/team doesn't meet their MMR. That's how it works once the system decides to disregard MMR in order to just get a game going.
In some ways it is really great. Sometimes you'll get grouped against players that are much more skilled than you, and hopefully you can learn from that, and other times you will be the teacher. Remember to be a good winner!

Long queues at lower skill ranges result in terrible games, no matter which side. Had the same experience as survivor before the patch. Escaping at night with long queue times was pretty much impossible. If two gens were fixed before the 4k that was already a good game.
It's probably still the same, just for killer now. Even makes sense, after awhile the game wants to get you into a match and needs to grab opponents for you, and if you're at the bottom, they will almost certainly will be stronger because there are many above and few below you.
I've seen this a lot since the patch dropped when watching streamers (I'm currently not playing anymore), very experienced survivors go against new killers who have no clue how to run tiles and making stupid mistakes, far more often than before. Makes me kind of worried about the future of the game. The ones that got hit the hardest with the updates are the casual and lower MMR survivors, particularly solos, who would normally be a fair match against these killers. The kill rate will definitely be higher than before, but I see experienced survivors still doing fine (even if saying they have less fun than before), so I suspect the higher kill rate is mainly brought to the stats by the survivors who already had a lower than average escape rate before the patch.
If a good number of those should be leaving now because they feel forgotten, more low skilled killers need to be put against higher skilled survivors to get games going quickly enough, and BHVR will have to follow up with another huge killer buff/survivor nerf patch to boost kill rates again to the level they want them to be, and then they may lose another batch of survivors from the bottom MMR range who can't keep up anymore so they need to buff killers again ...

They're getting me. I have 6,500 hours and I think like 50% of the killer games I played today had MULTIPLE survivors with less than 10 hours. Sometimes collectively the group had a combined amount of 10 when I checked.
It gets to the point where I will intentionally throw and make horrible plays just because I have 8 hooks at 5 gens with no progress and these guys are just gonna have a miserable time. Then I start whiffing, walking into obvious camped pallets just so these poor people don't have their first experience in a game ruined by someone with a thousand times the hours they have :/
6 -
Exactly what I'd do.

Oh, if you're wondering, we're getting really random killers !
I have about ~100h in the game, and I'm either getting killers who are on their first games in this role, or players who have several thousand hours on the game and at least 600h on killer.
It's about 20% new killers, 50% experienced killers and 30% killers my skill level.

I think if they make another buff to killers it will not be just low mmr survivors quitting. Nurse and blight are now extremely strong and more buffs to them is not good idea. Some low tier killers could use some buffs but that can't happen if it helps nurse so adding 100s to gen timers can't be done. Not basekit BBQ or corrupt either.

Which is terrible. I'd rather have the option to wait longer for a more balanced trial than get auto thrown in with anything.

Survivor is easy mode, always has been. They balanced the game more with the last update but survivor is still easy, that hasn't changed
1 -
uh huh... tell me more
0 -
yup that's it the killer ques are soo massively overpacked that super new killers are going against high MMR survivors and get this... The killers STILL put up a good fight even when they suck simply because the basekit is soo Overpowered.

Thats really cute of you ... but thats not what the MMR should provide, yet it happens all the time. I don't know how you guys always know the others game hours, though. Whenever I click on them pre-match, 85% of the profiles are private ... or is there a ... trick? 😲
1 -
I don't think it's a trick, I just think people that have minimal hours of the game or hop on to play with a friend probably don't see a reason to have their profile private.

This just sounds like the mmr is working as it should.
Survivors have been throwing matches since the patch. Lowering their mmr (and their teammates) at the same time. Now the system thinks that they're super bad and matches them accordingly.
Congratulations, you reached rock bottom. It will take time to get to a decent mmr rating again.

It sucks, tbh

Very similar experience honestly. No inbetweens either. Either baby killer with yellow/green perks or a cracked out nurse. Super weird
1 -
It sure does.
Actions have consequences and this isn't even over yet. People still dc/suicide on the smallest inconvenience.
This will backfire in the long run. During Freddy's release in 2017, survivors disconnected en masse. Because they didn't like playing against him over and over. Devs recognized it on stream and did 2 things: nerf Freddy and start development on the dc penalty system.
It's very well possible, that this will cause a similar effect. To prevent hook suicides.

Usually I only last hook survivors when all Gen are done. I dont want to fast kill anyone, which makes the game unfun for them. As survivor I never want to get tunneled/camped.
Which I set my progression of getting maxium 2 hooks per Gen. Especially the first 3 Gens.
1 -
In all fairness, the conditions for raising survivor MMR (escaping) is harder than that of killers (getting kills).
I really feel like hooks would be a better thing to track than kills, but I guess there is no real winning for either side of this "hockey game" we call DbD.

I am relatively new to this game and my survival rate has gone from 40% down to 3%.
Newbies (like me) are getting decimated by the Patch. Almost like the game is becoming inclusive for the elite only.
Great business model n' all ...
1 -
It is unfortunate but yes, it's not very welcoming to new players...
0 -
I guess you're just a really good survivor all of a sudden. Not simply dodging all the tunneling killers because of MMR messing up.
0 -
It always has been and always will be that you need to play much better than the survivors to win as killer, not the other way around. Survivors can beat really good killers off of gen speed alone. This is not specific to SWF.
