South America Servers
Hi, I wanna make this briefly and just say that I can´t play with 90-100 ping because it's just not fair. We need more servers in South America and not only in Brazil.
And no, its not my internet.
I hope this discussion gets somewhere because im really tired of this ping and ive been playing this game for a long long time.
Greetings from Chile

Unfortunately not possible until AWS opens another region in SA. The only one is in Sao Paolo with edge locations elsewhere.

Could you please tell me what AWS stands for? I´m sorry

Amazon Web Services. DBD hosts the games there. To be fair, games are playable with 100 ping. I'm from Argentina and I play with that ping sometimes (although I mostly play with 60 ping). It was way worse before we had dedicated servers (that was really unplayable). Anyway, there's no solution unless we stop having ######### economies. Brazil is the only country big enough to be worth investing on.

I am from brazil and most of my pings in solo q are 30 or 40. I'm sorry to hear that.

100 or 150 ms is brutal in a game like this; it provides a tremendous advantage to The Killer. Survivors are screwed because you have to account for your lag and that of the killer.

I agree, I have to really think where im gonna go as a survivor because i know that the killer will hit me from 10 meters away LOL. But yeah, its frustrating because i like this game.

Wait, 90 ping is bad? I am used to playing with 120 ping.

To touch on what another poster said. Amazon Web Services is the cloud provider the servers are hosted on. They only have a data center in Sao Paolo currently for South America. They have places called edge locations elsewhere, but those are typically only used to cache frequently accessed data, not for server hosting.

In fact, AWS has zones in Argentina (us-east-1-bue-1a) and Chile (us-east-1-scl-1a).
I hope they can enable servers in these areas, playing with 90 ping is not a good experience at all

Any chance we can have more servers in Brazil? if not in other countries, at least I will no longer be redirected to NA servers. It's annoying to play in NA servers from South America...
