Please Consider Reverting Mettle of Man
Ash is my favorite survivor, he is the first one that I ever leveled and pretty much the only one I play besides Ace. I have had Mettle of Man on since I started playing and it has always been a very reliable way to help my teammates all escape.
I never got to experience the original Mettle way back at launch, but nerfed protection hit Mettle has been niche, good in the right hands, and powerful when it procs. It is pretty much everything a perk should be.
This rework doesn't even make sense. You can't even use it without going down unless you find someone to heal you since healing yourself would deactivate it. You can't use it to safely unhook someone because unhooking deactivates it, you can't sabbo and take hits since that will deactivate it. You can't even use it with Inner Strength unless you have it before hand, since cleansing a totem after would deactivate it. What is the perk for now? What does it offer you versus anything else that gives you endurance? Why not just use new Dead Hard and not piss around taking hits and actually be able to work on gens? Everything done to the perk just made it less unique, it was already not great, just leave it alone. What was the point in nerfing DS and buffing OTR just to make Mettle a worse version of both, they filled different roles entirely.
At this point just make it a perk that gives BT to the unhooker or something. But I would rather you just change it back, let us keep our funny protection hit perk, it doesn't have to be like everything else.
EDIT: Even if you want to make Mettle proc something other than Endurance but have the same outcome, that would be cool too, call it Invincible or something, have the survivor glow a different color when they get hit.
That way it wouldn't be confusing to learn the versions of Endurance because it could be listed as an entirely unique effect.

Not only should Mettle be reverted. They should also remove the Aura reading because it was just stupid

It being inconsistent with how endurance works now is not even an issue.Inconsistencies are fine if they make sense to be there.
First Calm Spirit now Mettle of Man,they really have something for nerfing low tier perks.

i agree with everything, i tested it and the new use you can get out of it is really... useless.

There are several things in DBD which should be reverted, but I never thought I would add Mettle of Man to that list...
And yet, here we are.

It's really baffling how they go out of their way to nerf an incredibly niche perk, like why? It's like they want Ash's perks to always be underused.

I think they are mostly keeping the aura reading because of the "Evil has a bullseye on my back the size of Tiger Stadium." flavor text. And I am okay with that part of the perk staying. Though I would prefer if maybe it worked like old object, or even new object, and you could see glimpses of the killer. Ash has been possessed by evil before, so it would make sense thematically that they could sniff each other out lol

I got so excited when they mentioned Mettle of Man in the patch notes only to be immediately disappointed that they made it worse :(

Yeah me either man :(

It's in a rough spot for sure, I just, can't see what the devs actually want us to do with it now, Mettle has always been about rewarding altruistic play, but that is gone, because anything altruistic aside from the protection hits deactivates the perk.

:(
BHVR being BHVR, I suppose.

The devs even acknowledge this, and that's what confuses me. The know that it was major risk = major reward, I just don't understand what they were going for, Mettle hasn't been an issue since it was nerfed the first time.

Obliviously they were going for "????" and "major reward".
2 -
BHVR's vision for the game is too deep for me to comprehend.

WE DID IT GAMERS, WE GOT METTLE BACK!

Ain't nobody can nerf already near useless perks like BHVR can.
That said - they should at least remove the aura read. That is ridiculous - it's almost like...it's not a perk at all.
Kind of like No Mither.
