You shouldn't need perks to solve problems with the base game

The base game is clearly flawed when the most tedious part of the game, namely generator repair, needs to be made less tedious through the use of add ons and perks.

Use perks to target things that annoy you the most, including generator repair speed. Each choice is a gamble that may or may not be useful depending on what map you get, which killer, perks, and add-ons they use, and what perks and items your team brings.
This is what makes each match unique and why DBD is still being played.
