This Game was a Waste of Money
Ever since the update I can't play this game. It's intolerable. I wish I could get refunded for all the money I wasted on this game.

What exactly are you even talking about? Balance changes that make it harder for you? Or bugs that literally prevent you from playing?
5 -
I assume the balance changes. That seems to be the source the the whole "unplayable" surge of posts anyways
11 -
Yeah, me too. I wish I could get my money back from buying this game. The best we can do is stop playing this game until they fix some unbalanced changes they have done in this last 6.1.0. update.

if i could go back and stop myself from paying for anything in this game i would do so in a heartbeat. now i feel like i've sunk too much in to give up on it.

DBD is balanced, slightly in favor of survivors if played as it should. Not a waste of money because it is a game made with a good team and good gameplay that needs some buffs to killers basekit, overall not bad at all, dont overkill

Yeah the 80 seconds of OtR seems a bit much. But i wouldn´t stop playing because of that...

What i really find impressive is, that usually people post links to streamers that get kill streaks, whenever someone complains about the killer role.
However, since the patch dropped, no one posted escape streak videos of the same streamers, that just switched roles. Weird...

BHVR's business model strikes again.

Who wants to bet that this is a person who already had 1000+ hours of entertainment out of this "waste of money"

in all fairness this is essentially what most modern game companies do now. i don't think it's any less gross, microtransactions are an inherently predatory system but it's just how it is now.
2 -
This could just be me, but Dbd's feels so addictive. The aspect of a morbid survival horror is what hooks (haha) you in. BHVR truly struck gold on a live-service game.

If you genuinely don't enjoy this game anymore you shouldn't stick with it. Continuing to play won't make the money and time you've invested worth it, it's just continuing to spend time on something you dislike.

i'd call dbd one of the few good live service games out there in terms of gameplay and the like. a lot of them are just blatant cash grabs from AAA companies, dbd is by far bhvr's most successful game and afaik the only one they've released that's gotten as popular as it is. i have my gripes but at its core dbd is a good game i'd say. just has a lot of issues weighing on it.

this is true, i tend to take long breaks when the game just isn't fun anymore and usually i come back enjoying myself again. not a lot has happened that has made me genuinely consider quitting, honestly there are only a few things that could get me to do so at this point. future collaborations with companies like ubisoft, crypto grifts or pay to play mechanics are my breaking point. otherwise i'm sinking with the game also i just loaded into a match whoops

without breaks I'd burn out completely. When I first got the game (late 2018, free on PS+) I was obsessed with it and played it in all my spare time but no way I could sustain that now...which is probably for the best
the few weeks before a midchapter is always a good time for it when there's no active rift and not much going on

IT should be played solo without communication. you really think it slightly favors survivors that way? What about swf then?
0 -
Even though I hate current DBD, I really don't think it was a waste of money.
After all, I had tons of fun when I bought the game, all the way back in 2018. DBD used to provide me with a level of enjoyment that no other game could.
And those golden days were worth it. I would buy the game and all of my DLCs again, if it meant returning to a better time.

Maybe cuz on solo basically u get potatoes but if u play and mmr up u will see more competent survs.
Btw surv streaks shouldnt be normal

What you're saying is like going to a restaurant, eating an entire plate of food and saying you aren't paying because the food was bad, but at the end of the day you still bit in and played over the amount of hours to request a refund on your platform
2 -
If you bought and played the game before this patch and had enjoyed yourself, it wasn't a waste of money.
This mind set that a game got an update that you don't like suddenly means that you wasted money on the game is just flawed logic. Do you say you wasted your money when you beat single player games?

I used to buy new games all the time before 2016. DBD saved me money by giving me thousands of hours of gameplay.

If the game game has provided an equivalent of an hour of fun per dollar spent, it wasn’t a waste of money. I know it’s provided me tenfold hours of fun for the 10 or 15 bucks I spent on it.

Nobody could've explained any better my old friend 🙂

Survivors have a lot of power with swfs, it could be kill switched and warn the killer even, if survs are on a swf atleast by two and give extra bloopoints. Overall killers need a buff where some addons become basekit.

The map designs ensure that any survivor who simply knows the loops can extend a chase to last almost a minute simply by dropping pallets and going from loop to loop without even needing to actually run them or mindgame at all. And if the rest of the team is even slightly efficient about doing their gens, the pace of the game will go a gen per hook easily, meaning it's physically impossible for the killer to win without tunneling someone out ASAP. The game is ultimately the survivors' to lose, not the killer's to win. The most a killer can do is exploit the mistakes survivors make.

Not a waste of money if you've spent money on the chapters is it? You clearly loved this game enough to buy stuff and maybe it's time for you to take a break, otherwise this post is useless for you.

I wish I could get my money back on anything and everything I've ever bought.

Purely based on hours of entertainment to dollars (relative to most games), you wouldn't have to play much to make it worth it.

It always amazes me how a change that someone may not like, justifiably or unjustifiably, is enough to erase all prior enjoyment of something.
I really like the ones where people say how many hours they’ve played, “I sunk 2k hours into this game it’s now unplayable I want a refund for my wasted money”.
Is it just some kind of deluded entitled consumerist mentality or do people really think they deserve some reward beyond just the fun of an entertainment product?

Ah, this topic brings me back :3

Wow - that is exactly what I've been feeling like lately, but I couldn't put it in words.

If you ever enjoyed it for a decent amount of time then you got your money’s worth.

Probably the third of games where a survivor quits or kills themselves.

Any game I spent money on and did not play many hours was a waste of money. I bought all the DLC as they came out and a few outfits but it cannot be more than $300. Currently, the game has cost me about 12 cents per hour.
0 -
Yeah, I might have spent $50 total, and have plenty of hours to justify it.
In the 80s I spent $50 of bday money at an arcade for a few hours of play.

I am really surprised the game is not free to play given its monetization, but honestly, this game is more fun than most multi-player games. I do not mind spending on it.

Honestly, I can't really understand your point since it's more or less probably the balance changes. Whenever I buy a game I look forward to having a fun time meeting new friends and involving myself with the community. Also, playing the game to just have fun usually does the trick for me. Buying a game and wishing you hadn't bought it because of some balance changes is more or less something no one can expect. You may wish you might not have bought it but give it another chance. Play with some of your friends who may have the game or try looking at this game with a more casual, for fun mindset which doesn't care necessarily about losing or winning!
