Whats your ping usually like? Dead hard works fine for me and everyone ive played with

I haven't tried DH once since the update, but I play a lot of killer and survivors are using it quite after the initial wave of "its dead and murdered".

It's still the singular exhaustion perk that can be used on demand while out in the open or out of position. Its use is now quite tricky and skill, though, and is a mind game of its own.

A lot of survivors will try to bait you into wasting a swing by suddenly running into you or try to anticipate when you might swing at them.

It's pretty effective if it works, but if you use it once against me I'll try to remember and won't get baited so easily.

Sounds like you just don't know the timing, tbh. You almost have to react to them swinging, now.

There is a timing to it, you kind of have to get used to it. There is also the point where a killer will wait out your next dead hard if they know you have it.

Yeah, I definitely think Dead Hard is in a healthier spot overall. It’s still seeing use but not the insanely high usage it was getting pre-patch.

Under a lot of circumstances the cold DH was pretty much uncounterable. The new DH requires right precise timing and deliberation, just like a souls-like counter ability, and if you get hit by it you might feel a short burst of anger, but you don't die inside bit by bit, but actually feel that it was kinda fair: you got legitimately outplayed and had a fair chance to see it coming.

I'm talking about the old invincibility it was complete ######### and with the infamous exhausted on the floor

Same here, I always end up exhausted on the ground if I DH the moment the killer swings. I have 35 ping so it isn’t due to my ping either. DH needs its hit validation back which they removed after the perk rework or else the perk won’t work properly

Exhausted in the ground was the reason I stopped using DH until they added validation. I can check my ping, and I know anything higher than about 60 is going to be a problem and can swap build in the lobby. Usually it's fine, but some servers/lobbies are just crap. But the killer's ping is hidden. DH is back to unreliable for me as well.

I'm still seeing a lot of successful DH's. So I guess practice more?
