Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Killers should have their own form of "Emote"

Not as far as full on animations go like the pointing and "Come here" motions that survivors have, but something simple, something that the devs (hopefully) can't mess up.

Each killer (aside from a few licenses for obvious reasons) could have a a small list of sounds and noises linked to the emote button, Killers like Clown, Doctor, Slinger, etc could have a laugh. Others like Trapper, Billy, Blight, etc could have like a growl or grunt.

These would have no real gameplay use aside from half BM and half fun (Kinda like what the survivors have if you think about it)

Imagine a Slinger hooking you and then laughing afterwards (Not very different from survivors pointing and tbagging after every little thing they succeed at, so don't bother complaining about it) Or unknowingly being stalked by a Michael and then all of a sudden you hear a much louder breathing noise out of nowhere. It'd be pretty fun.

Obviously what noises each killer would make is up to the devs for their original chapters, and license holders for the non original chapters.

Given that more killers are making more and more noises and actually talking, why not add a little spice to the older ones?

While I do think, like you've mentionned, that it could very easily be used to BM (you need not look further than Doctors spamming shock therapy to know that if you give this sort of power to killers, some will make sure to harass with it), I'd actually really like for killers to emote more.

I think when it's not used to BM, it could actually make the game a bit healthier, as I often notice that when I do silly things as killer to show that I'm not offended when survivors do a cheeky play (headbang after accidentally opening a locker/vaulting instead of picking up a survivor, nodding after getting pallet stunned, etc.), they actually get more chill afterwards as they understand that I'm not a raging tryhard or a bot but really person also trying to have fun on this game.

I don't know exactly which emotes I would like more, I'm biaised towards a variation of "come here" since I love giving hatch and people don't always understand hitting the air as an invitation to follow. I think emotes that differ from general "bad guy" behaviour might also bring some roleplaying element to the game, like negotiating a hook trade or such.

I don't know. But I'd definitely like more possible interactions with survivors.

God imagine a leatherface standing in shack just motioning to you like "Follow me" XD

I mean... Just for the sheer ridiculousness of it, I probably would XD

I actually do the same with survivors, if one of them asks me to follow them, I drop the chase to see what they wanted to show me. If it's another survivor, the snitch gets downed, but most times it happened it was to show me easter eggs or neat map details or such, so that's always fun to me. :)

To me moris are the equivalent of killer emotes, and I’m okay with that

I really like this idea. As a killer your means of communicating with the survivors are really limited. Most of the time thats not too bad, but sometimes you want to show something else then pure aggression. Like, sometimes when I down a survivor after a tough chase I give them a single slap on the hook and nod, before zooming off, just as to say "well played". But the same single slap on the hook and nodding can be seen as toxic; its all in the eye of the beholder as we don't have many other means of contextualizing or modifying the simple acts of hitting and nodding and maybe spinning in place.

On the same note, why aren't there any more survivor emotes? I mean BHVR is selling all kinds of outfits all the time, why not an emote pack or specific emotes in the shop related to the season or event or whatever? This seems like a no brainer to me. And while I don't like the idea of everyone doing the Fortnight dances all the time, a few well placed emotes could also help the soloQ crowd A LOT. I mean, pointing and motioning to follow is all nice and well, but maybe a "heal me" "lets do gens" "split up" "go to shack" or even "yes" and "no" seem like they are severely missing in a game about team play.

But back to OPs topic: killers using their signature move or something like doing the heart with their hands to notion a hatch gift could be pretty fun. One part that sets playing killer aside is the feeling of isolation, of you vs them. Sometimes you have short moments of interactivity or understanding between killers and survivors, but these are even more limited then communication between Aliance and Horde players. Kek.

I'm pretty sure there's a video out there when mods existed someone replaced the pointing emote with a dab

Same when i play ghost face and i have at hooked them all at least once ill start to mess around and it can take a while for survivors to pick up on it but when they do the fun can start, like a kongo line with us all crouched and me leading them to the next gen lol. Or as the pig trying to get someone to boop the snoot it would be great if there was something that happened after they did it even if they got bp for it so many survivors are scared to try to do it.

Just be a lot more fun and chilled if killers had some form of fun emote you can use or something happens when survivors do something would bring a lot of laughs to this game then there is now.

I want to see Saly twerking.

Imagine the nurse twerking in front of a hook.

The ultimate in strangeness in DbD.

    🤣

Congo line Ghostie is so fun ! xD Ghostfaces are always 50/50 for me, either they're really fun and chill or they're mean. Either way I can't take crouching Ghostface seriously so when I see one approaching I'll generally take a injury/down just crouch walking towards them because I think it's funny and sometimes they're happy to find a crouching friend <3

I actualy have never managed to boop the snoot, I don't see Pigs often and the ones I saw didn't want boops :(
