Bringing Killers to Teammates

Please stop. I know sometimes its just coincidence, bad timing/place but a lot of times, it just seems blatantly obvious that the teammate is trying to use you to either take a hit or get the killer off of them and to focus you. Especially at the start of the game. Whenever I'm in chase and I see people on a gen, I try to plan out where to run w/o interrupting them. If they're on one side of the map and the killer wants me so badly, I'll take him to the other end, etc.

But it seems this courtesy isn't something a lot of survivors do, and the ones that do try to bring the killer to me/get me focused, are usually always the selfish players/bad runners. Not always..but most.

Its probably the most frustrating thing for me at least, just because of how often it happens. Just had a game go horribly south b/c of a player like this. So much time wasted zzz. /rant

Yeah I don't care what anyone else says, my teammates cause me to want to give up way faster than anything the killer is doing. And before someone get's in a tizzy about what I just said. I used the word want in front of give up, I didn't say I do give up.

I always try to lead the killer away, even if it means I'll go down fast. Unfortunately, when I get chased, I become directionally challenged and cant tell left from right and usually end up leading him to someone else.

The only time I intentionally lead him to others is if I'm on death hook and know they're not (and if I can find them).

Oh for sure. I strictly solo que and my goal is always to be as efficient as possible & get out. So when it comes to meming, trolling or farming, I really don't care. I just want to play to get out, and hope everyone in the match has that mindset too. Being a 1v4, survivor teammates are bound to frustrate you more than anything else, lol.

I've said it before, I don't really care about what killer I'm against or what they're doing. The #1 thing that will make me want to throw in the towel or not try as much are my teammates and what theyre doing.

Teammates are the biggest problem for anyone in solo que.

Yea that might happen. Its definitely happened to me before where I just go down very fast at the start. I think most people have had an experience like that though. Yea its no sweat if its innocent (although frustrating at the time for the other person lol), its just seemed very blatant as of late in my games, especially after the last one I just had.

I totally understand if a teammate is death hook and wants me to take a hit. Hell I'm usually the one who will take a hit & go down, hoping the killer picks me up so the teammate has time to get away and heal. Moreso about the very blatant/selfish people who hurt their team overall and either don't realize or don't care.

Does anyone remember the legendary scriptures of Evil Dwight?

I would never play like that myself, but perks like Self-Preservation do exist in the game now.

Playing solo I have no problems with handing the killer off when I'm completely out of options. Maybe the teammates can't escape the chase, but I'm more willing to attempt the save then risk being the one strung up.

I try to lead the killer away, but honestly sometimes you just lead them to other survivors. I don't ever when I'm running bond, but...that's a perk that I only get medium use out of - nice to have, not essential.

Would be kinda cool if you could get an aura within 8 metres or something, basekit, but...that's a pretty low priority thing.

Giving someone else chase when you are being tunneled or are on death hook is completely different than running to teammates because you don't want to be chased. Best case scenario, you shouldn't have to look for teammates in those two situations, they should be doing it anyway.

I once had a Jane do this when she was injured. I'm not exaggerating when I say it got everybody killed at 1 gen left.

Thats the crazy & most frustrating thing. You can be winning pretty clearly and 1 teammate is all it takes to erase that advantage. The match that made me rant about this, the Adam brought the killer to me 3 times, 2 on a gen and once at the end right as I was about to open a gate - had it 85% when Adam showed up and went down right in front of me (on MES). He ran past the Jonah who was on hook in a desperate bid to get out and ended up screwing all 3 of us.

    DbD, sigh.

I hate to be contrarian but sometimes this can actually be a good thing. For example, if I'm injured and the killer is chasing me, and I run past a gen with a sizeable amount of progress being worked on by a healthy survivor, this often gives me enough time to escape and heal up instead of taking a down, as the killer will usually go after the survivor on the gen, and then I can go back to the gen that got interrupted and make sure it gets finished.

Most of the time, yea, it's incredibly annoying, but there are some situations where this can be a smart play to avoid losing hook states unnecessarily.

Let’s not forget the teammates that’s use bond and empathy to do it on purpose around end game.

I run aftercare in every match and people who are under aftercare that sees my aura keeps running the killer to me... Yeah thats not an accident anymore at that point.

Then again nothing surprises me anymore with survivors

I'm guilty as charged on this one, I flail around frantically in chases not really having enough brainpower left to pay attention to anything but how near the next pallet is, so I often don't notice people in the area, but I need all my perk slots so no Bond.

I generally try to veer away last minute or take a hit to let my teammates run away, but killer sometimes takes the opportunity to pressure them.
