Do survivors not do anything(repair generators, unhook, etc) anymore?

I main as killer and rarely see them helping each other or generators anymore. I played a couple of matches as survivor and noticed the same thing. The last match I was using Kindred and while hooked two of the survivors were just wandering around on the edge of the map. Is this a common thing now?

For your matches as survivor :

Depending on how much or how little you play as survivor, it might be somewhat normal behaviour. Newcomers often feel safer on the edge of the maps, so they'll have a few formative hours spending a lot of time there when they feel pressured.

I've had a about 20 survivor games [mid mmr] between yesterday and today, and in very few of them (2-3?) did I have this kind of (pardon the word) useless teammate.

For your matches as killer :

Either matchmaking is struggling to find survivors to your mmr and gives you new players, or you have bad luck and keep getting unaltruistic players.

I hope you get better matches soon !

I have not been playing much in the last week. But there was a solid 2 weeks where I only got genuinely good survivors about a week after the patch hit. Though I am very high mmr so that may have an affect on it. Last few games I've played has felt random, but that's also a long killer queue at 1Am.

Fun fact: there actually is no mmr and just a big pool of randomness ha. Welcome to solo-q!

Everything for the most part has been the same soloQ survivor experience, except in one area. People are starting to figure out that it isn't worth trying to rescue people in the end game. I myself have been running both Hope and Adrenaline, just to avoid getting chased or hooked last at all.

    As Solo Q Survivor

I'm stuck in MMR hell ATM and all my teammates are useless. They either run straight for the Killer to die, DC on a down that's too fast, suicide on Hook, refuse to heal/get healed, ignore Gens, or hide all game.

    Killer Side

Ieother have baby squads I smash brutally or SWF squads that are sweaty try hards. But nothing in-between

I had a game where we lost because one teammate dced on first hook, and the other solo queue teammate just urban evaded around the map the entire match. They had 900 hours 😭

No because they are opening chests, cleansing totems and hiding 10m away from you for 60 seconds

    That's terrible !

On one match yesterday, I had a baby Jake crouch walking around the map the whole game. He did maybe a quarter of a gen with my friend, but would hop into lockers at the faintest TR, and eventually just stuck to the edges of the map. Later, when it was just the two of us left and I was on second hook with two gen remaining, I found him again hiding behind shack in a corner.

We stayed for a couple minutes there with me trying to assess what to do from now, and him following me like a little duckling.

I eventually ran at the killer to get hooked, because I knew if I went stealthy the Jake would just locker hop and the game would last for another 20 minutes and I did not wish that on the killer or on myself.

Jake got the hatch, of course.

I feel it’s just not enough time to do it all. Doing gens, unhooking, healing, looking for hex, items. The chases are generally very short now, I know DH nerf has a lot to do with it. Mostly 1-2 hooks have been done before a gen pops in my games, many times 1 player might be on deathhook even.

I am (guessing) in mid-lower solo q and most matches are lost even before it starts. If I hear a blink from the get go it’s basically just to give up at this point. MMR doesn’t do it’s job either, it’s completely random who you end up playing with.

Before I had somewhat close matches. I died way more than I survived but at least a stood a chance. Now it’s more often than not I’m dead or the killer has 4K’d before 3 gens have popped.

Top tip if you want to get unhooked quickly in solo q: Attempt escape 2-3 times and survivors will absolutely leg it across the map as efficiently as you've ever seen before to get the save.

I just encountered a Prestige 22 Jake who I was a bit concerned about,as I thought he could ######### on me hard.

What he did was urban evade with Distortion and Sole Survivor the entire game and let his team die.

It’s every survivor for themself out here. You could have run the same build and may have been in the same situation. This is what BHVR wanted; they’ve never really promoted teamwork amongst survivors, and it couldn’t be more clear now with them buffing killers to increase kill rates that they’re prioritizing fewer (as in 1-2 survivors per trial) escapes. They’ve also buffed a couple of final survivor perks.

I can't repeat this enough. I have no idea how many times I've seen baby survivors on my teams, or even as a killer see an insanely good player matched with awful players. It's so random and annoying it ruins the games. You can't carry in dbd so if there are bad players on the team it ruins the game.
