Survivors prevail once again
So survivors rage quitting finally pays off as usual. Now they get a full on buffed version of BT as basekit. Which can pretty much guarantee an escape during endgame, if the survivor is unhooked anywhere near the exits. Go on, keep punishing killers for camping and tunneling, instead of looking into why MOST of the camping and tunneling is happening (survivor objective is much quicker than the killer's objective). So much for the kiLLeR siDeD pAtCh lol.

Killers camp because it's easy and it works. It has nothing to do with gen times being too fast or looping being to strong.
89 -
They killed Reassurance and buffed Wesker but guys, they actually added an effective measure to prevent tunneling! They MUST be survivor sided!
68 -
those darn survivors, wanting to actually play the game instead of sit on a hook being camped and then tunneled out if they ever get unhooked! how DARE they
80 -
You focus on one point and ignore that they made two upcoming Survivor Perks pointless in the next Update AND reduced the number of Pallets on the new RPD-Maps.
32 -
Just facecamp as Bubba, it's literally the same as always for him.
3 -
This patch looks good overall. 10sec Base-BT is fine, earlier u always had to face 12sec-BT with a perk. Now I assume most of the players dont run BT or feel Off the record as a must have.

we tunnel bc gen speeds compared to safety of maps (i.e. dead dawg having a god loop for a main building, and 4 tiles that interconnect, and thats called a KILLER SIDED map) is not equal. we cannot get downs quicker than gens get done (which is why people play nurse, who ignores maps almost completely), so we tunnel out a survivor to permanently slow down gens by 25%, or to just get a kill if the damage done was too much.
9 -
Camping against good teams who know how to do gens will get you a 1-2k at best. It doesn't work.
10 -
Reassurance got nerfed in a way that makes it much less effective, and Better Than New no longer gives repair speed. So no, survivors got nerfed as well.
9 -
I really don't think survivors needed 200 pallets on one map, seems a bit overkill
6 -
Yeah definitely a skill issue. I bet you give the same advice other survivor mains give to killers, "jUsT pReSSuRe gEnS".
2 -
the repair speed on better than new was 6% for 35 seconds. survivors were not nerfed. thats like 2 seconds off a gen. that perk was most definitely buffed
1 -
"Survivors prevail once again" make it make sense
19 -
Killers also camp because BHVR doesn’t want them to know where the survivors are when a killer hooks someone. Instead of being shown a direction to go in when a survivor is hooked, killers are expected to just wander around the map and hope for the best. This is why awakened awareness just got nerfed.
People keep talking about addressing the reasons why killers camp and tunnel, but so far we just keep adding penalties for the killer, instead of giving killers ways to make it easier to find a new survivor to chase so they will have a motivation to leave a hooked survivor.
5 -
So now it's time for the killers to become cry babies once again, right?
17 -
I originally called this post "survivors dictatorship prevails once again" and the mods changed the post name to "survivors prevail once again". God behavior are you insecure, not able to take any criticism what so ever.
7 -
This never changed tbh.
19 -
Gen times were increased by 10 seconds with 6.1.
Anyone that believes this would deter players from camping and tunneling is a complete dunce.
16 -
When you hook a Survivor and take a look around the map do you see those things that are highlighted for you?
They're called generators and most of the time you can find a Survivor around one of them.
You're welcome.
25 -
I mean that BBQ got nerfed to the point that it’s not worth using, pain res lost the info part, and now awakened awareness lost the lingering info part. Instead of giving killers motivation to leave a hook, they just want to keep punishing killers for camping instead.
4 -
Killers don't tunnel because of gen speeds; they tunnel because it's an overly effective strategy. The Killers that tunnel will always tunnel until it's made completely ineffective. It's also an unhealthy strategy for the game. Now that the abomination that was pre 6.1 DH has been nerfed, nerf tunneling and camping to the ground and rebalance around healthy game strategies.
8 -
Going too far away from a hook, just because survivors —might— be at one of the generators that are spread across the entire map, is not an effective use of a killers time, and it’s certainly not a positive motivator to leave a hooked survivor.
3 -
the difference with current and old bbq is that people would throw games for their 4th stack. thats no longer a thing, so killers play tactically for the most part.
2 -
BBQ isn’t worth a perk slot, now that the Bloodpoint bonus isn’t there, and it still has so much counterplay.
0 -
So it wasn't like that when there was no base kit BT and all survivors ran the actual BT perk??
2 -
Good teams were probably going to win anyway. Against bad teams (mainly solo) it's still a very solid strategy.
This is the dead hard on the ground argument for killers. Survivors always liked to say "dead hard isn't that strong. Half the time it doesn't even work". Even though if that were even remotely true, players wouldn't have been running dead hard nearly as often.
"Camping isn't even that strong". Well, why do so many killers do it then? In particular, killers with strong camping abilities (Bubba, Huntress, and Trickster).
2 -
Yeah. Having a positive motivation to hook all 4 survivors, and sometimes being shown a survivor’s aura when I hooked someone, meant I camped and tunneled less back then. Now I have zero positive motivation to spread hooks.
2 -
While I agree that the devs aren't survivor sided, I feel like these examples aren't really good cause reassurance was kinda dumb since you can keep the hooked survivor on there for a long time and wesker had very janky interactions.
1 -
and thatd be 1 of your 4 perks. now, you can have bt and 4 other meta perks
2 -
Wesker definitely needed those changes because of how buggy he was and I acknowledge that Reassurance could hold a hooked survivor hostage essentially, but if the devs were survivor sided like OP says then those issues would’ve been ignored. Just like they wouldn’t buff basekit BT if they were killer sided.
1 -
Is this a joke? If you can not see how problematic camping and tunneling currently are, then I don't know what to tell you. And no, killers do not have to camp or tunnel to have a fair chance at winning, unless you are maybe playing on Eyrie of Crows or Fractured Cowshed. Not after killers got their bunch of baseline buffs.
This buff to the anti-tunneling mechanic is one of the best things I have ever seen in BHVR's dev notes. I am so happy at the moment. And I am a killer main myself.
7 -
I do not see how Reassurance is going to be pointless now, it's just a completely unnecessary nerf that it's getting. It will still be effective, I sure still will be using it, but just not as effective as it should be, because an anti-camping perk can pretty much never be too effective.
This community has always had it's fair share of cry babies. But on both sides, not just killers side. And that will most likely also never change.
3 -
I don' think they would have been ignored if they were survivor sided cause reassurance, like you said, could hold a survivor hostage. and wesker was janky for both sided, not just killer. I wish people stopped with the whole your killer sided, survivor sided thing though. It makes it impossible to have a conversation.
1 -
I don't believe Reassurance got nerfed at all, it just prevented survivors from keeping you on the hook indefinitely, is that what you wanted?
1 -
They did not kill Reassurance, it’s still broken and needs a nerf asap.
3 -
Literal only anti-camping measure in 6 years gets gutted before it hits live but golly gee, them gosh-darn survivors are gettin' too big for them britches, I tells ya!
9 -
Please tell me that you are /j
2 -
The only ones that think this needs a nerf are the ones who play with the intention of camping.
6 -
you thought survivors were dominating the devs? wait until they listen to toxic survivors and remove the nurse blinks and just make her an M1 Killer lmfao, while also removing all blight techs to remove his looping pressure, effectively nerfing blight by a lot too. What's next? Idk, maybe Basic Attacks get removed and Killers instead get spyglasses to watch survivors walk out the exit games... maybe one day the Killer Role may actually be completely replaced by the spectator role...
2 -
I think a better fix for camping would have been to be able to keep the survivor alive for longer than 30 secs per person using the perk (which will most likely be only 1 per lobby if any, as it's a DLC perk and not everyone can afford a 8$ band aid fix), with the option for the survivor on hook to decline the reassurance. There. No non-consensual indefinite hook state.
I wouldn't have minded deactivating the perk once the gates are powered as well, since it's a time where camping is completely legit in my opinion, and that way there could not be an infinite that would inconvenience the killer.
1 -
Lol Bestie, I tunnel I don’t need to camp.
1 -
The thing is, if only I am running it (which I have to assume since there is no way knowing the Perks of the other Survivors unless you are in an SWF), it would be more beneficial to stick to the Gen I am working on instead of going next to the Hook and use the Perk to prolong the Hook State.
The time I am not on a Gen to activate the Perk will be more hurtful to the Team than it can be beneficial to prolong the Hook Stage of the camped Survivor.
2 -
you say that, but your team is still at 50% efficiency, so 2 gens are getting done, and although you mightve wasted a good 20 seconds running to the hook and back, thats 30 seconds free on both your teammates gens, and another 10 seconds free on yours. if it takes a bit longer than 20 seconds there and back, youre still giving 2 gens another 1/3 of their progress without the threat of killer interruption, which is still strong.
0 -
I mean even with the basekit BT if you hooked right in front of the gate there was a good chance they were going to escape anyway once unhooked. Hooking a survivor right next to a gate is never a good idea, unless that's your only option or the gate isn't 99'd.
1 -
If I learned anything in DBD then that you cannot trust your teammates.
30 seconds of extra Hookstage might just mean that they hide next to the camped Survivor for 30 more seconds in hope that the Killer will stop camping after 2 minutes.
3 -
my solo teammates are usually better than i am. put trust in them, if you know what to do against camping, they do too
0 -
If you are literally across the map then yes that may be the case. Was also probably the case with Reassurance on the PTB.
If you are anywhere within the vicinity of the hook, giving your teammates 30 extra seconds to either do generators or coordinate a save is huge. This also assumes nobody on your team is using Reassurance. You may just find that you work on a generator from across the map, one of your teammates uses Reassurance, then you finish your generator and you run across the map to use yours to give them extra time.
If that doesn't happen, then you know your teammates don't have it. You also didn't know if your teammates ran BT until after you were unhooked. BHVR should make a way that you can know your teammates perks in solo queue, but it's not like that mechanic didn't exist before. You also don't know if your teammate has Deliverance or Unbreakable and those two are still ridiculously strong perks.
Yes if you run across the map immediately once a survivor gets hooked just so you can get Reassurance value, you'll probably be using the perk wrong.

Lmao that was a good one. 😭 Saloon is a small map with trash loops and filled with unsafe pallets.

If you're bad or too fascinated with the chase, can't keep your emotions in check and in result lose counting the time it's your own issue. I cant believe anyone is really complain after midchapter patch. At this point I'm sure there won't ve enough nerfs to survivors for you to stop complaining. I play killers only for bp and trophies/challenges. I reckon it was boring role pre patch and it became much more boring after. It's so much easier to control gens and catch them so it brings zero interest.
Time is your main resource as the killer. If you cant manage it - you're gonna lose again and again.
Pls dont reply to this message, I wont read it.

Yall literally got a bunch of buffs to base killer, calm down. Its only increased by 3.
