When will they?
When will they actually introduce a new game mode for dbd? I'm not suggesting we need one in the next update or even this year, but surely at some stage in this games life they'll add some alternative to the current game mode right?
The game is over 6 years old and all they've done is added things such as hex, boons with tonnes of new characters and perks, imo the game is getting somewhat stale just having the same game mode for this long. I'm finding myself playing fewer games consecutively, especially after a win.
Take COD for example, a different league in terms of capabilities, but still they have various game within multiplayer, solo, warzone and zombies. Fifa and other games also have various modes to alternate between such as career, solo, co op etc.
So does anyone on here want/think any new versions of the game will be introduced one day?

If they continue to balance the current mode to get into a better place step by step, then after that I would love to see a completely new game mode as well. But I wouldn't expect one any time soon, not even some time next year to be honest.

I would love to see a 1v1 queue for people that just want to chase.

I think it would be cool if they could pull off something like the game Darwin Project, in the sense that theres a director role, which would be the killer role. Then maybe have the survivors go through a deadly obstacle course (like in the Saw movies) that the killer controls.

Me personally, would love a story mode for each killer. Perhaps 1v1 or player v ai killer with some story and tasks to complete. Pretty sure there are some good ideas out there.

They're introducing custom matches with bots this year which I think qualifies as a new game mode.

I don't want a new game mode... they can barely maintain the game mode we have now as it is.

I would like to see anything (given time... I guess)
A 2V8
A 1V1 (someone had already mentioned it)
A real Training mode (for new players and for players that haven't played for awhile)
Not a new mode but a new way to play the Game... Needing to complete Gens to open up the map (think of COD Zombies)
A real story mode (someone had already mentioned it)... rifts are ok at this point but we (I) kinda want something more
A no perk mode (rather then getting the ok for it on KYF)

Two killers and all their assets plus eight survs & their gear? No way the consoles or lower-end PC's could possibly run that, not with this coding and optimization.
Imagine throwing in Nemmy and his pair of lost misfits on top of that as well. The Switch machines would instantly melt and ooz onto the floor.

The only other mode I've really wanted are bot/practice games, and we're getting that, so I'm good.
My survivor brain has thought expanded tutorials (like for basic stuff like looping, flashlight use, etc.) would be nice, but the killer half of my brain hates that idea. Plus we can practice that stuff in bot games.

I wasn't intending to squash any dreams, I too wish for some game mode variety.
However I became convinced the notion of two or more killers (plus 8 survs and what something like 13 gens?) is not possible back while they were developing Nemesis.
The story is they toyed with a third zom zom as an Iri add-on, and that hurt game performance so badly they scrapped the idea & changed the add-on. Now I assume they develop using bad-ass PC's, so if they couldn't handle a third zombie on them, what hope is there for my lowly Xbox?

2 killers vs 5 survivors then if that's the limit. I don't care if it's balanced I just want to play killer with friend.

me too. honestly i feel like the best way to do that is to add a killer specifically for doing that with. like twins, but designed for 100% uptime from both halves.

Id love to see a survivor where the survivors have to last for as long as possible, both sides get bonus bloodpoints for how well they do and stuff. Maybe some objectives on the side that increase/decrease the timer for each role or something. It would have an arcade feel to it but Id imagine it being really fun.
