Is Lucky Break actually useful other than with gimmick builds? How should you use it?

I really like lucky break conceptually, but you as a survivor should waste the killer's time. If you just dissapear from a chase, that doesn't really happen. How should you use this perk, and with what perks, to be able to make it work without having a build completely centered around it?

The perk is meant to make you disappear from the killer, staying in a very dense area with a lot of LoS blockers is ideal. It pairs well with anything that gets you heal quickly like Inner Strength or a good medkit.

Pairing it with Overcome, Inner Healing and Quick & Quiet is pretty solid for getting out of chases. (Also pretty good for farming Roots of Dread achievement where you need to escape a chase by entering a locker.)

Except you disappearing leaving the killer to search the immediate area for you does waste their time. I'm an average looper, honestly don't understand how people are so good at it. I enjoy lucky break for this fact especially if I can save it till near the end and jump in to take a hit for someone being end game tunnelled then disappear off.

IMO the Perk is not really worth taking anymore. I did not think it was a strong Perk to begin with after they buffed it. But now with Iron Will being useless, it does not really help that you can hide Scratchmarks and Blood if your Grunts of Pain are still audible.

Escaping the killer after you spend your healthy healthstate is also pretty good.

You might not get a second chase but you do prevent the killer progress on their objective and save your teammates time from having to unhook you.

Especially early game when the killer wants to snowball this is very good

Always good to have some ways to escape chases too. Only focussing on extending chases often means dying at end game

Alright depending on the map & especially when combined with using an exhaustion after being hit. Very strong against nurse/spirit and blight some

Lucky Break is a great perk, if you use it right. It relies on you breaking LoS from the killer. Weaving through walls, trees, etc.

I see many people try to hide nearby and get caught, foiling their own perk.

If it's the start of the game and a killer spends 20 seconds chasing you before landing a hit and loses you to lucky break and you heal in ~10 seconds with bite the bullet and a green medkit you bought 20 * 3 = 60 seconds of gen time minimum for your team, you are healthy, and the killer has nothing to show for it except perhaps a pallet broken.

I use it a lot paired with Overcome. Since Overcome triggers when you’re hit, it means the Killer has already been chasing me through one health state. Then they will spend more time looking for where I went. It’s not as good now with the Death of Iron Will, but still not bad. I think the Killer going after a survivor, putting that time in and not getting a hook is a big enough time waster.
