Is a killer standing over me and the other last survivor letting us bleed out next to hooks bannable
Title says it all. Killer just stood over us and kept spinning until we bled out. Isn’t that holding the game hostage considering we can’t do anything tk change our situation? Similar to body blocking someone in the corner?

Nope. We are allowed to bleed you out. The fact that you will eventually die is why. Hostage situations are more about not letting the game progress.

I'm pretty sure it's not bannable. Technically it's not holding the game hostage, since you bleed out and die after 4min of slug. In contrary you can block someone in a corner forever.

Mandy said that even if there are other survivors it’s still banabble because the blocked survivor can’t do anything about their situation. Regardless it sucks because you can’t even dc out of that situation without being penalized.

No, letting you bleed out is not against any rules. You would pretty much waste your time reporting that.

It's not worthy of a ban but I think it's very dicey. Bleeding out should speed up or you should be given an option to concede defeat in a manner similar to missing the two skill checks on the hook. I don't care if I don't escape, I just want to move on to the next game or something else and not be party to some windbag stroking their ego.

The game will end so no, they aren't getting banned. It would also look horrible to ban people using strategies the devs have openly said are acceptable, at a time hacking is so bad they had to give streamers free DC's for a while. It is rude and uncalled for, but it is not bannable as the game has a finite time left. It will end.

That's when you get up and take a look outside or whatever you need to do.

Bannable situations are: Killer blocks you in the corner stopping you from being able to play. Survivor blocks you in the corner stopping you from being able to play. Survivors are hiding from the killer with no intentions of completing gens, but to just waste time.

They don't ban for blatant hacking, they aren't going to ban for bleeding out survivors

They do. I've got a list of these.
The last one I've reported just got banned yesterday. It took 25 days though.

You've had a better experience than me. I reported a subtle speed hacker that turned blatant to get hatch. I did everything properly and reported them with video evidence. 30 days and not banned. I know cause they're on Steam and a small streamer.

It's not considered an offense and isn't worth reporting, though it is plainly griefing and it's unfortunate that BHVR doesn't seem to have any desire to reduce this kind of behavior.

And the ticket is closed?

Yes, it was closed finally a couple days ago

BHVR loves toxicity lol. As long as it keeps people playing. Remember when they made the new animations and said they made sure to make sure teabagging was still satisfying? Lol

Sucks then.

Yup. Really disheartening. Last time I waste my time reporting someone. I wanted to make a post about it but I don't have any software/video editing knowhow to redact the names from the vid

I have played many games where the remaining survivors are on the ground and perks used would ensure they wiggle out so they leave us. Personally that to me is taking the game hostage. We have to watch the killer dance around when we know we could have had a chance, as small as it is, to get everyone up and keep it going. But because they know that we have to stick around and do nothing until we die, as mentioned we cannot DC or we get penalized, but isn't laying there forever enough punishment? Either way we just keep playing because we try to have fun, those games not fun, but we also know it only happens because they knew we had them if they tried. A win in our books. I gave up getting mad long ago some things won't change we just try to change or perks on the way that days games go to try even the odds of survival.

Okay, that's not remotely comparable to the situation in the OP. You're complaining that the killer didn't play right into your hands and give you what you want by basically bashing their heads against an otherwise unwinnable situation and hoping something eventually sticks - and that's just complaining that your opponents aren't stupid.
People are allowed to react to each others' perks and adjust their behavior based on what the other players are running and doing. Or do you have to keep shining a flashlight at the killer once you realize they have Lightborn? Do you continue to bodyblock when you see the killer has Starstruck or Mad Grit? Do you pile on gens once it's clear they have Discordance?
If you don't like being left on the floor to rot, switch your build away from the flip-flop/boil over meme and run perks whose counter-strategies don't involve behavior you don't like. And keep in mind that if you want the killer to pick you up, you can always crawl up to a hook instead of staying in a corner/some second-story vantage and hoping they do something completely against their own interests.

I mean sorry to say but you're lying.

You can't just report them in game, you need to record it and make a ticket on the website.

Thankfully, your opinion is worth exactly zilch, so it's all good.

Unfortunately you have zero evidence and are directly contradicting the devs with your fantasy. Please stop spreading misinfo. Unless you just meant the hacking and not bleeding out. Your post isn't clear.

So if I block you in a corner, but for precisely 72 hours, according to this kind of logic it shouldn't be bannable too, right? It's not forever, after all, only for finite 72 hours, so it's not taking the game hostage by this definition.

I did all that. In game report, additional report, and video evidence

If it's a blatant hacker chances are you didn't get a response because they were already banned.

They're on Steam and I can see they don't have a game ban on record. It wasn't "blatant" like flying around all over the place, but it was a subtle speed hacker that made it blatant when they were the last one alive so they could get the hatch. There's no way you could look at the footage and think it's legit though, they gave themselves like a 10 second speed boost after getting hit.

they do ban blatant hacking. provide proof and report it. I don't know where you heard they don't do that

Not bannable. The definition of holding the game hostage for dbd is body blocking someone in a corner and refusing to progress the game.

you don't need to redact anything when you send the video directly to devs. Only if you want to post it around forums, and you want to avoid naming and shaming, which is mostly against forum rules.
