Thoughts about Wesker from live

I played for most of the PTB for Wesker, had a lot of fun. Got really excited to play him on launch day. Even went as far as to bank 7.1 million bloodpoints to p6 him day one. Playing him on live however was extremely disappointing. I will do my best to outline why I think right now he needs some changes, what I personally believe the changes should be.

For starters, the hitbox changes made him less bumpy, he now slides off objects a lot easier, which is wonderful. However on the opposite end of the spectrum, his hitbox for grabbing players is now extremely punishing and is in many instances, extremely unrewarding. You end up wasting so much time trying to use his power you might as well just play him as a normal M1 killer that has a short mobility option. While I do think his hitbox on the PTB was a bit too forgiving, I do however believe that his current hitbox is too small. I think increasing the hitbox for Survivor detection to be 30 cm would be a nice middle ground.

Secondly, according to the wiki, Wesker has the longest ready time for any ranged or mid ranged killer in the entire game, being 1.5 seconds. This makes Wesker suffer incredibly when a Survivor is hugging a small object or a small loop, rendering any sort of interesting play around his power borderline impossible. Reducing this would make his power a lot more fun because it opens up more opportunities at loops.

However, if instead of making him have a shorter ready time, making him faster while channeling his power and nerfing Uroboros Tentacle to compensate would also be wonderful, as it makes him a lot better to play around corners when it comes to Jungle Gyms or other long walled tiles. If both his ready time and his movement speed could be adjusted slightly together it would also make him a lot more comfortable to play.

Lastly, his bugs. He has multiple bugs right now, he grabs people but just drops them, preventing damage or in many cases just dashes directly through them. I saved this for last because I know this is likely already a priority and will hopefully be addressed in next weeks hotfix.

Cheers.
