Since Reassurance is useless, when is Camping going to be addressed?

Lmao they just added a great nerf to tunneling and you are acting like they aren't doing anything.
I also think camping needs to be addressed 100%, but people like you always just exaggerate so much. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.

You can't force killers to not camp, that is true, and barely anyone is asking for that. People just want the strategey to become less effective, which is absolutely needed, considering how unfun it is to go against, and how little skill it requires.

Whether you saw it or not, we only have the explanation the devs gave as to why the perk got nerfed. Anything else is conjecture and you placing a motive based on your own bias.

I know how unfun it is...ive recently been playing more survivor where Im camped and tunneled some of the time. They can only do so much though. No matter what they do, people will still camp. Even if they nerf insidious to remove the hiding of the Aura, it wont stop camping.

Useless perk indeed. Nobody runs in my area and 30 seconds is not enough to "save" the game

They need to implement an opt out, after someone activates Reassurance on you, you get a huge Skill Check that when missed declines Reassurance. Alternatively, instead of it being an altruistic per, it could become a selfish perk. You equip it and it only works on you, and as soon as you're hooked like Kindred, it displays the icon in the bottom right corner for every survivor so they know you have it and then they have to come over to you to press the active ability button to activate it. They can even rename the perk to Self-Assurance.

It has not even been 24 hours. Most people didn't have 2.1 million BP saved like I did to dump into the game immediately. Some people are waiting to get paid to buy the DLC too.
Survivors are allowed to play in any manner they can "get away with". But what they are not allowed to do is make a decision to finish gens before rescuing friends and then get mad at the killer that just lost 1-2 gens and is now defending a hook instead of giving away a free unhook. In the instance of gens before friends - you made your choice.

Agreed. Killers don’t deserve to lost any gen

considering the devs have been wrong on many things and how they compared the game to hockey i have no reason to trust them with what they say is happening and what is actually seen. and drop the bias junk i couldn't care less on your opinion on that since we can claim most people on the forum have a bias on how they talk on here and how everyone keeps getting called entitled.

Stop with the nonsense.
I watched Otz play two games today where he camped to win. The first game was on Badham and he camped the first person to death because the survivors picked that map to "ruin" his fun. They blasted 3 gens across the map while he patrolled a 3 gen. This was literal cause and effect.
If you blast gens and expect to make easy saves at the last second you need to realize that the killer is human - not some bot. They want to win too so you should expect them to make the optimal play which is making that person who is hooked go to second hook phase to punish you for not prioritizing gens.
This is the cause/effect when you choose gens before friends.

Seems fine:

Who said anything about getting mad. I was simply saying that with the perk you can play in a greedy way that will no longer get that individual killed.

Reassurance is useless
This is the topic.
Congratulations you found a way it might be useful in SWF
I've consistently gotten value from it in solo queue since yesterday. You didn't say it wasn't good. You said it was useless. I don't get value every game, but that's a good thing? I don't get value from OTR if the killer doesn't tunnel me at all. That doesn't make the perk "useless". Reassurance isn't as strong as it was on the PTB, but it is far from weak. It literally counters some of the strongest killer strategies in the game.
And... uh... Detective's Hunch is somewhere between decent and good? It's probably the best totem perk in the game. Those have limited applicability which is why it's not better than decent/good, but that's definitely not trash? And if you need to do totems or there are Hexes present, it's very strong.
Maybe you just don't know what the word useless or trash mean? Or you think that all perks other than old Dead Hard are trash? Or you're still learning the general flow of the game?

I've been using it just to stop teammates from suiciding on their first hook for another 30 seconds. I see them struggling/attempting an early out, I run in and hit em with it, then if it's safe to unhook, I do it, otherwise I try to lead the killer away, or go back to doing a gen while the killer camps. It's especially effective in multi-level maps like Midwitch, RPD and The Game, wherein I can move in on the level above or under the hooked survivor, hit em with it, and go back to my gen without ever presenting the killer a new target to chase.
Out of my matches today and yesterday so far (all solo queue), I've had at least 10-16 teammates attempt suiciding too early, and using Reassurance to shut that crap down has been a god send.

But it's especially good at one very common scenario.
I thought the common scenario is that under 4 minutes the whole team is slugged by a Nurse.

Regardless of your opinion of the devs. The only information we have about why the perk got changed is what we were told. That the perk could be abused by survivors.
Adding any other reason to that is you making up your own story. Your point of view (bias) filling in perceived gaps with speculation. I'm not trying to call you out for it. It's something we all do. Everyday in every part of our lives.
You don't trust the devs. You don't agree with how they do things. Thus it's obviously crying killers that got the perk nerfed.

While this video features Pebsie speculating the ptb version jokingly, and pushing the limits with his friends, this pretty much sums up why the devs changed Reassurance, and in only 30 seconds.
Just imagine a game wherein you're on a multi level map, and instead of anyone coming to save you on the hook, they just keep running up under or above you, continuously trigger Reassurance all game long, and then once all the gens are done some 10 minutes later (assuming the killer hasn't gone after any of them and just camped you all game), just leave you to die on the hook.
That sounds like a "fun" game to me! /s

Yeah stealing 2 minutes of game time is totally fair and balanced

I can only look at the situation in disbelief. A prime opportunity to release an actual good perk that made killers think twice about camping, but nope, need to connect it to another survivor and have to come play with the killer to get some value from it. I wish BHVR would stop being scared to death of killer mains.
Two people not doing gens for only 30 seconds. No good.
If survivors actually bought the DLC, they are the actual reason why the game is becoming horrendously unbalanced and unfair to play as survivor. This DLC is just another killer DLC with 2 survivors with 6 useless perks.

Oh yeah and reassurance is a very powerful survivor perk. If you think it's weak it's because you don't care about your teammates
1 -
Why do you say it's useless? Does it not pause the survivor's timer for 30 seconds when someone activates it?
3 -
if reassurance is still 1 use, then no youre wrong. 90 seconds is enough for a 3 man escape AND even a 4 man depending on killer, whether its gonna be ran by everyone then boo hoo, no perk should absolutely destroy 1 thing, anti tunnel perks need to be stacked now, THATS fair, smartly using anti camp tools is fair, but we shouldnt just be able to abuse it, just because its unfun.
1 -
I have more than 5000 hours as survivor. This perk is trash
2 -
Bruh I watch my survivor friend play every day and killers literally only go for 2 survivors max and proxy camp. I don't get it. It's so boring to play like that, no skill even if you win from it in the end. Most survivors and killers in this game are so lame.
2 -
A lot of survivor players are boosted, but something the killer mains on this forum won't admit is a ton of killers are boosted too.
They play as you described, but it works, so they keep doing it, never actually displaying any skill. Then they face some survivors much better than they are, and cry about it on these forums.
So they want to keep convince themselves they are better than they are, I think. And the only way they can get kills at the MMR they boosted themselves to is to keep playing the same way because they know if they actually did chases the way actual good killers do they would be destroyed.
3 -
Yeah, they didn't nerf it to protect killers, they nerfed it to protect survs from other survs, which is sad.
That said, what we're seeing here is like when a small child gets their hopes up for their birthday, but when they don't get what they were expecting, they have a tantrum and throw away what they actually got.
Reassurance isn't what it could have been, but it's still useful, and certainly isn't trash.

And it should be buffed to 45-60 seconds to be remotely useful at what it's supposed to do: making camping less effective. As it is right now, 30 seconds isn't nearly enough to justify going all the way to the hook and coming back to the generator.
