Has Anyone Gotten Use Out Of Virulent Bound?

I've been playing Wesker a bit and his Power seems genuinely useless at anything but a 4 lane or a T/L wall.

His charge time is too long, his cooldown is too long, his hit-box is too small and he can't recharge it while using.

Not to mention the fact that junk tiles are like infinites and turn him into an M1 Killer shall Wesker dare use his Power, or that he gets punished for using his Power correctly against Survivors that out-position themselves out in the open.

Guess who doesn't have any of these? Demogorgon.

Yet again, BHVR has failed in making a Demogorgon clone

i mean these were all problems in ptb besides hitbox. the hitbox was huge in ptb, now the hitbox is smaller making it possible to not hit walls but it also makes it pretty hard to hit survivors now.

they could fixed filler/junk tiles being infinities by allowing him to use his 2nd bound after vaulting. no cigar unfortunately. he's alright killer, but he could been much stronger with better values/more polish. I have gotten use out of it, but the power relies on survivor looping errors. More on survivor to mess up, not as much skill-expression for the killer to make plays with the power.

Alright? He's got nothing going for him. He's basically just like Pinhead: a Killer that works against bad Survivors and is nigh useless against good ones.

They both even get punished for using their Power

On some map, i've quickly found myself using his power only for mobility or to catch up after a pallet break. But then again, i never had good aim in any game, so maybe it's just me being bad with his power.

sounds like you described like 80% of killer cast in one sentence. pinhead 1vs1 is not ideal. he has bad parameters as well that could use polishing. Pinhead really frustrating to play though. Pinhead 1vs1 chain's is like equivalent of playing a shooter and landing 100% headshots but your opponent has 50% evasion, so half the headshots do 0 damage. Wesker's dash is just situational. Its useful at loops that you don't need help on. T-L wall and 4 walls are already unsafe, meanwhile it doesn't help vs long wall pallets, classic jungle gym pallets, shack pallet and safe filler pallets like the ones that spawn in gideon meat packing plant.

Killer need ways to outplay those type of loops. not T-L wall...

when hes in a tight space (corridor of some sort) his power works great, but out in the open its kinda a bad thing to use it since the hit detection is so low, and you go flying to narnia when you miss.

itd be nice if they buffed the hit detection to 30cm, he kinda feels like an m1 with ok mobility atm

Plenty of killers I've gone against have. Might be a skill issue tbh.

It isn't a Wesker-only issue, true, but releasing such a pathetic Killer, after most people complained about the Killer being too weak, is sad.

Maps with tight corridors are indoor Maps. Those are some of Wesker's worst because of all the corners Survivors can use to nullify his Power

I definitely am in the camp that his add on to break pallets and walls should be basekit. Same as demo.

I've gone against 5 or 6 Weskers last night, all of them managed to use their ability a few times during the trial.

He's been out for less than a day, he just needs some getting used to, the same way new Blight or Billy players often revert to m1 after failing a couple of charges.

yes that is true, but they can also be good for his power (think midwich hallways)

unfortunately hes just not very good with his tiny collision, but i feel if they made his collision bigger his best maps would be indoor ones, at least for chase potential

The thing with the hitbox, is it's not a case of it being impossible to hit, it's not being possible to hit consistently, or when you would want to use your power.

If the survivor is aware, hitting becomes at best a 50/50, and the penalty for missing being so harsh. The amount of lost time for missing a strike, especially on the 2nd bound, if you account for charge/travel time and cooldown is insane, cumulatively only missing a few times in a match is going to amount to losing the match, which is why if you play against a Wesker that's getting downs, you are probably not seeing both the missed attempts, and also situations where the Wesker is just not using their power when they could be.

The framework of a good killer is there. I think they were a bit premature in reducing his grab radius. He needs the original grab radius back or just a *little* curve to his second token. I've slid/deflected off survivors multiple times without actually grabbing them.

Have I gotten use out of his power? Sure. It doesn't feel very rewarding, because despite the effort it takes to actually hit with your power the payoff isn't that great compared to hitting with a basic attack. Not to mention his power really doesn't have at many of the more common loops so you often play run around the pallet until it gets thrown down because your power simply isn't helpful.

Just giving him the ability to curve would be massive I agree. The other thing that might help is giving him 3 tokens.

So far I’ve gotten use out of his power at:

    -Killer Shack

    -Pallet gyms

    -LT walls

    -4 Lanes

But the most value of all has come from using it to catch up to a survivor after a pallet break. The distance you gain is good enough to make it worthwhile, but I don’t know if this will remain a good strategy in the long run.
