What is the point of wesker vaulting pallets?

What was the point of giving wesker the ability to vault pallets but then slow him down so you gain nothing from it. I understand not being able to attack straight after vaulting but with the slow down you may as well just break every pallet

It helps him a lot on some god loops.

seemed like such a let down, but honestly, i've surprisingly gotten decent value and downs out of it.

The trick is to realise that you do not just vault the pallet
You dash and then vault it
If you're able to use the full lenght of the dash it can result in hit on some tiles.
If you stand point blank at the pallet and vault it you won't and probably shouldn't get a hit
Would probably be a bit to easy to just insta vault any pallet if you could reliably hit people after it

Vaulting is for god pallets and strong windows, I think. That's my current strategy- don't vault in loops because it's useless, vault pallets that must be broken to continue the chase and vault particularly strong windows. It's mostly useful if you vault at the tail end of a dash rather than straight away, because it saves time; you move real quick and then you vault the thing, it doesn't really matter that you probably won't get a hit straight away because you already saved time.
